For black beans, buy the "seasoned" versions, not just canned plain beans. You might mix a can of "black bean soup" with a can of unseasoned beans, or I include a can of stewed tomatoes in the pot.
Homemade pressure cooked beans start w/the sofrito (green peppers, onions, pork fat). Grandmas sneak in a bit of brown sugar and bay leaf. You may have a chopped tomato or tsp of paste, in some familes.
I think a fresh pico de gallo goes on top nicely. Also,valencia short grain rice is the most traditional.

if it takes a half hour thats the same as simmering chicken for a 25 minutes (or however long it spends above like 160f) in addition to time it spends cooking with carryover heat it's approaching shreddable and 100% cooked through. if "warm" is over 160f then you could even cook with the Warm setting.
