Cool man. Looks good.

You sound like the end of the X-Files.
>>
You didn't build that
>>

Where's the fish, wiseguy?
>>
>>21751486
Fish doesn't go on a jelly donut retard.
>>
>>21751486
it's inside. it's ahi

donuts with chocolate dipping sauce
>>

I got a NICAP cap this year, someone called me a Fed, kek
>>
I'm still experimenting with how much fish I can cram in them and still have them be structured. I'm not doing enough. Oh well, I'll get it right next time.
>>
The only good riceballs have no fish because I HATE fish. The jiggers tricked me once at the jigger market when I bought a riceball. I bit into the riceball in the parking lot expecting rice and got a mouthful of fish and mayo. I HATE fish and I HATE mayo so I immediately wretched and involuntarily projectile vomited the large Dunkin Donuts Iced Coffee I had just drank. There were a lot of people staring at me so I panicked , started shaking and making weird "uh ah ah uh wahhh uh huh ha uh" noises, threw the riceball down, hopped in my car and sped away while crying and dry heaving from the lingering fish, mayo, coffee vomit taste in my mouth.

Japanese Mayo can really put a bee in your bonnet if you're not expecting it. First time I had it I thought I was biting rendered lard.
>>
>>21751493
That's more than any of the onigiris I ate in Japan had in them

Didn't he get a gf or wife and stop making those cringe incel comics where it's everyone elses fault he's a weak effeminate pussy?
>>
>>21751500
I'm so happy that this happened to you. Why would you be so dumb? Didn't you think it cost a bit much for just rice? You seriously got blindsided?
>>
>oh so there's like special seasonings?
>no they just play with the rice like play dough and make shapes with it then eat it
how come white people never got into the habit of making shapes with dey breads
>>
>>21751523
This was in the late 90s when Japan hadn't yet had it's entire asshole spread open for weebs to plunder and it was still mysterious and exotic. I did think it was a big ball of rice wrapped in seaweed. It was so cheap I thought it was just rice. The packaging was all in Japanese. There was no way for me to know it had fish and mayo inside.

Your praise means nothing because you leave the same generic reply in every thread no matter how bad it looks, You are an NPC.

The rice looks a little soft, that could be affecting structure. They do look pretty full though, I’d be happy to try one!

Was the jelly donuts a random joke or was there a deeper meaning to it? Maybe that’s what kids grab at 7-Eleven in America instead of rice balls.
>>
>>21753234
In the Pokémon anime they localized onigiri as jelly donuts for the US.
>>
>>21753282
Why didn’t they just call them rice balls?
>>
>>21753291
They already had pokeballs. Rice balls would've been too many balls.
>>
>>21751507
>biting rendered lard
Have you actually done this? I don't think you actually have.
>>
>>21751469
Only 15 more years of training and you can put some fish on that rice.
>>
>>21753291
4kids were taking the piss
>>
>>21753291
Most Americans didn't know what the fuck a rice ball was in the late 90s when the episode aired. The world was a much smaller place back then.
>>

I made this

>SUGOI
>>
>>21751469
How are you going to sauce the fish without soaking the rice now, reatrd?
>>
>>21751469
How did you get your onigiri to stick so well? I am using sushi rice and washing it and such but after it comes out if the press it falls apart.
>>
>>21755117
I don’t want to discourage you, but sushi masters train for around a decade just to get the rice perfect. They are very likely just abusing the newcomers, but maybe it really does take time to get it right. You’re just going to have to eat bad batch after bad batch until you get it right. There is plenty of help online.

>This is no exaggeration as in Japan, the expectation is that you will start as the cleaner, eventually graduating to the rice maker, before finally gaining your apprenticeship as a wakiita (which means ‘near the cutting board’)
>>
>>21751493
Honestly, as the other anon said, onigiris have very little filling. If you really want more fish just make sushi
>>
>>21755117
I use this rice and it's ridiculously sticky. Also I pack a lot in the onigiri molds and press them really hard.

Nori sides can just be veneers. You have more room vertically toward the apex of the triangle.

that wasabi is fake horseraddish trash
shamefur dispray
>>
>>21755169
>imagine working that hard for 10 years just so you can serve the jap equivalent of the McChicken.
>>
>>21755905
I recognize that tube because i bought it on sale on Amazon. It gets advertised as Wasabi and i had some and it tasted fine but the actual texture of it is terrible. I am not afraid to admit i like wasabi in my soy sauce but that does not spread around the soy sauce as well as an actual sushi bars wasabi. What would you recommend for good Wasabi?
>>
>>21751478
It looks pathetically amateur.

>>21751469
You should really be ashamed if you consider yourself a proficient chef. There are good reasons people study how to cook rice for a decade in Japan and then another decade for how to fold the nori. This miserable display could only be described as wretched.
>>
They look good OP. Looks like you did a really good job, especially on the presentation. How do they taste?
>>21757646
That's got to be absolute bullshit that most or even a large percentage of sushi chefs train like that.
That's probably for fine dining stuff, if anything.
>>21755419
>Mr. Miyagi puts sushi in his mouth fish side up
>>
>>21757707
What looks wrong with it? (and also what difference does whatever you think is wrong with it make?)
>>
>>21757707
lol
>>
>>21757873
It's very clearly a joke mate. Chill.
>>
>>21755169
do slopmongers know that phrases like "It's not just food- it's tradition, patience, and precision" immediately out their shit as what it is
>>
>>21753291
4kids was notorious for the edits they would make for their American audience. They really thought kids in middle america would have no idea what a fuck rice ball was and would be too stupid to put 2 and 2 together.
>>
>>21757876
Oh? I didn't get it. I still don't really get it.
My bad if so.
>>
>>21757887
You really think
>There are good reasons people study how to cook rice for a decade in Japan and then another decade for how to fold the nori. This miserable display could only be described as wretched.
is serious? It hasn't occurred to you at all that it may be an exaggerated parody of people who get annoyingly uppity about common japanese snacks?
>>
>>21757895
Well since you mentioned it was a joke, yes it occured to me, I just don't think it's funny.
It was also possible it was one of those annoyingly uppity people.
I don't know if you think I'm really steamed about this or something either. When I asked this (>>21757873) I really did want to know what small things he could be noticing and what effects he thought those small things might be having. You don't need to tell me to chill.
>>
>>21757922
>I just don't think it's funny
You don't have to think it's funny to be aware that it was meant as a joke and not take it seriously
>It was also possible it was one of those annoyingly uppity people.
No, it's really not. It's a very exaggerated parody. He laid it on extremely thick and you still thought it was real. You actually think there are people who "study how to cook rice for a decade"? That's a joking riff on the "ten years learning how to make the tamago! the egg!" quote from that one show, which itself was also a joke.
>I don't know if you think I'm really steamed about this
No, I think you're stupid and imperceptive. Comedy is better when it can be subtle, and people like you are why subtlety is impossible nowadays. There are other places on the internet for you where people will end their posts with "/s" and shit so you don't need to use what remains of your brain at all.
>>
>>21757939
Alright. I don't really care. Goodbye.
>>
>>21757958
Come back. I'm not done calling you a retarded subhuman yet!
>>
>>21755419
I love this scene so much
Imagine how funny the scene would become if the business guys were revealed to be more knowledgeable on Japanese culture than mr miyagi over there
