any good kitchen equipment sales going on this black friday/cyber monday?
Staub dutch ovens are on sale.$150 for a 4qt (good for 2-3 people) or $300 for a 7qt (good for 5-8 people)About $50 more than the lowest price I've seen in the last 5 years, but I doubt it'll go that low again with the recent and future economic situation.
>>21753240i'm sure i've seen them around that rant before, but you did say 50bux cheaper. i am leaning more towards staub cause they got the drip-lid-thing. but i really want a huge one because i like to stuff as much meat as i can and eat the leftovers for a week. the 13qt is pricey and not on sale
>>21753264>13qt is priceyThey probably sell fewer than 200 of those things a year. Maybe 300 in a really good year. So I doubt they make them too often, they probably make a big batch of a thousand units every few years and just distribute them as needed. If you keep an eye on the Staub factory 2nds listings, they do sometimes pop up on there for like $350-400.
>>21753273ok i'll look for thati think i live near one of those tanger-outlets, so the first thing i was thinking about when it came to a "sale" was the le creuset ones. otherwise the only thing i think i could be in the market for right now is a proper coffee grinder
>>21753240the 7qts were cheaper a week ago but got sold out. you can't wait around for black friday anymore because the sales start at least a week early now.
>>21753300Got any proof? It doesn't show up on camelcamelcamel's price history charts.I got my black one back in 2020 when they were ~$165-200.
>>21753306https://ca.camelcamelcamel.com/product/B07YSVHV79$237 was the bottom, the lowest price in years for this SKU. keep in mind this price is in CAD, so it's actually even cheaper in USD. the lowest price for any 7qt right now is $279 CAD.
>>21753300i'm not "waiting around" so much but i'm out of the retail market in general i got some great shit three years ago for black friday
>>21753319Gotcha, doesn't look like that price was ever seen on US amazon last week. But it's certainly a good price.
>>21753229Eh, there were some decent sales, depending on what equipment item you were after. Most were meh though. Instapot won the deepest discount with 57% off, so if you want one nab it off Amazon.
>>21753229acemart.com
>>21753229https://www.qvc.com/vitamix-5-speed-4-piece-deluxe-immersion-blender-bundle.product.K83959.html?sc=TSVQVC is unironically the best place to buy higher end kitchen equipment when they put it on sale. They're also selling some Le Cruset stuff as well.
>>21754026>still $120 more than Staubno
I just want a good ladel. all of my spoons have holes in them...soup life is tough.
ordered these.8 bucks is pretty good deal, and I already have two of the same containers and one lid.
>>21753240I copped the 7qt for $300 a few weeks ago. Shit is cash. Ive used it for baking sourdough, braised shortribs and mashed potatoes so far.Today I ordered a Breville barista express impress, and a 10cup Zojirushi rice cooker
>>21756357Which zoji model?
>>21756681NW-QAC18
>>21756994Nice, I've got the older version of that one
>>21757024How has it been for you? Can you cook stuff like spanish or cilantro-lime rice just by adding spices and set and forget?
>>21757040I enjoy it, it's my 2nd zojirushi my previous was a basic model from the late 90s I got when I moved out for college back in 2011. I got the upgraded new model back in 2019.I can't speak to Spanish or cilantro-lime rice as I pretty much always stick to higher end Japanese rice. It can confirm it does do well with using dashi or another broth as the cooking liquid though.
>>21756236That is a pretty good deal.
>>21757040Usually, unless the stock itself is different, you just cook the rice and mix all the extra ingredients afterwards (but while it's still warm).
