How often do you use dutch ovens and do you like them anons? What're some of your favorite recipes that use one?
>>21753978Several times a week and most of themWhat are you trying to farm?
>>21753978I meal prep so I use it every week. I feel it's justified getting an on sale le creuset. I tend to make quick (not multi-hour) stews, curries, and sauces (like pasta) in bulk with them, and I get good browning and get to saute lots of stuff. I've made big rice dishes and oil fried stuff in it before, popcorn is good in it too, though I don't do them as much. I do bean stuff in an instant pot now since I don't want to use the stove or oven for multiple hours. I never made bread before but I bet it'd be good too.It also works as a nice mixing bowl, a container, and the lid is useful for being a lid for other stuff.
>>21753978>What're some of your favorite recipes that use one?tostitos salsa con queso and michelob light.fart while getting head and trap the bitch.you'll thank me later.
>>21754061>I meal preppsychopath behavior.
>>21754061>I tend to make quick (not multi-hour) stewsBut why even use a dutch oven for stuff like that? Might as well use regular pots as they can do quick stuff just as good and it's gonna be less of an hassle to clean
>>21753978Every night. Technically...
>>21753978Only when camping
I cook with mine several times each week when I'm home. Food comes out brilliant. The only downside is they are heavy relative to stainless. If I could only possess one cooking vessel, it would be a dutch oven.
I used one a few times and was thoroughly unimpressed.A stainless pot with a thick bottom outclasses it in all aspects.

Folks bitch about the patina formed by cooking with a dutch oven. After soap and water, fill with baking soda and water. Boil for twenty minutes. When cool, discard water and rinse. Refill with baking soda and water. Boil again. No patina. Easy to do while you're eating and relaxing. Stop bitching about this.
>>21754137nta but my life was overall better when I did some meal prep once per week. On Sunday I would cook enough dinners for 5 days, I would eat that food Sunday night and through Thursday. Friday and Saturday I would go out or cook fresh at home. Breakfasts and lunches every day were basic small and quick made fresh (like an omelette). It was the perfect balance. Now my life is chaos day by day uncertainty and I waste a lot of extra time going to the store 4x week picking up small batches of groceries.
>>21753978I really only use mine for that amazing no-knead bread dough that comes out like the nice bakery stuff. Super popular about 15 years ago and I never stopped making it.
