you don't know how caffeine works.
>>
I quit 3 months ago and it turns out it did nothing for me, didn't even have withdrawals. My sleep is better definitely and I don't get a "crash" at 6pm.

It's a stupid psy op.

Coffee is good, but only the freshly ground home-barrista machine kind. I think the stuff that fucks people up and prompts them to quit is the instant and Niggstlé kind of cancer capsule poison.
>>
>>21754663
I'm also thoroughly addicted to caffeine but seeing as coffee is good for you I plan to just keep doing it until I die.
Energy drink zoomers are in shambles though, enjoy picking the rocks out of your kidneys.

The headaches are the only withdrawal symptoms in my experience and they go away after about 5 days. Drink tea to wean yourself off. That's with coffee though not enerjew drinks.

I'm just gonna be honest, I drink probably two cans of soda a day. Is that enough caffeine to cause you problems or cause withdrawal if you reduce? I ask because I started drinking less for a short health reason (I had mild gastritis and caffeine irritates it) and noticed that I've started sleeping worse while I was changing my intake.

I don't know if caffeine addiction is real or not, but sugar addiction definitely is.
quitting soda by itself is easy, but the sugar cravings are killer. Start craving sweetened drinks and candy and shit.
>>
>>21755189
>Are you the mushroom coffee guy?
No? I've never heard of him. If he's in the coffee threads then I wouldn't know, as mentioned I don't drink much coffee
>>
>>21755274
it's like 70mg of caffeine, less than a cup of coffee. enough to have an effect but it's not the same as drinking multiple energy drinks or coffees. you may notice a slight change but it shouldn't be that severe to the point where it lasts more than a few days.

did you replace the fluid with something else to make sure you stay hydrated?

>>21755282
>sugar addiction
craving sugar is normal. just replace it with something healthier. fruit, sweet potato, honey, etc. it's not a drug.
>>
>>21755286
It's been about a week now, I don't know if that's more than "a few days".
>did you replace the fluid with something else to make sure you stay hydrated?
I was already drinking tons of water, probably close to 3-4L a day.
>>
>>21755286
>just replace it with something healthier.
I've found that green grapes and oranges are very good for replacing soda. Right mixture of sweetness and zest/sourness and juicy.
>>
>>21755289
if you're unusually sensitive to caffeine it could be up to 2-3 weeks for things to go back to normal completely. caffeine is still in your system for about 36 hours after you stop consuming it so you just have to give it some time.

>>21755293
>green grapes and oranges
yeah those are some of my favorites. strawberries are good too if you can get them actually ripe, and mangoes.

I think most people don't care as long as you're not acting retarded and you make an effort to communicate properly. Some people might complain but they would probably complain about anything you do.

It's gotten worse after X added user location data. Since that happened I've been accused of being Indian multiple times in innocuous posts despite being a white American which never happened before. It's making people paranoid and wanting to block other countries because they're tired of it. But I think they just need to realize trusting people online that you don't know is a dumb idea and especially letting them rile you up.
>>
I never crave it but if I go more than about 14 hours without caffeine I'll get a nasty headache that even more caffeine doesn't fix.
Strangely the headache is about the same whether I'm on a several black coffees per day schedule, or on a one bag of black tea per day schedule.
>>
honestly the withdrawls are worse than the side effects if you keep consumption light
just stop drinking it past 2pm or something
i dont even know if its waking me up but it does help me shit in the morning so I don't care

I don’t know if there’s a correlation between being caffeine-free and ending up as pathetic and useless as I have, especially when all the successful and normal people in society drink coffee every morning

My aches are on the first day then I'm in the clear after. Depending on how much I consume, if I stand, I'll vomit, possibly multiple times, but once I flush I'm clean and good. Most people aren't like this I don't think but if I don't drink coffee sometime the night before I'll wake up ill. I'm sad so it provides relief without having to do anything stupid myself.

>>
>>21755352
About 100mg is generally entirely beneficial though, most people are genuinely "addicted" (or physically dependent on that baseline once they start though)
>>
>>21754663

Make sure you drink plenty of water my friend.
>>
>>21755274

>>
>>21755696
imagine being autistic, you think differently, how do you know youre different?
this isnt like being born with blue hair or a third arm
if youre a high functioning autist, most people just think youre a bit eccentric and not a full blown autist, (this is what it is like in my expirience)
so when you see other people you think they are just like you, because why wouldnt they be, they arent different from you in any way
and it isnt like sociopaths/psychopaths where everybody talks about emotions you dont have which tell them they are different
there is no definite tell that separates you from other normal people, the difference only shows itself with brain scans and personality quirks
which is why i ask you, how do you know youre normal and that you dont have some unknown autism/adhd-like disorder that will be discovered in the future? DO you know that you think just like everybody around you and HOW do you know?
>>
hey lad at least if you were 20 years addicted to alcohol you might not even be able to have made this post
>>
>>21756528
Sadly I live another day.
>>
>>21757183
>how do you know youre normal and that you dont have some unknown autism/adhd-like disorder that will be discovered in the future?
I'm over 30 and have a pretty stable life by now. Always had friends and gfs growing up, never had trouble in school or focusing at work.
> DO you know that you think just like everybody around you and HOW do you know?
Normal people think differently from one another. It's ADHD and autistic people that think the same way in their respective groups, which is why these are diagnosable conditions.
>>
>>21755484
>but it does help me shit in the morning so I don't care
for me it stopped having that effect after a few years of regular drinking, now it has no side effects only withdrawals
>>
>>21755860
>all the successful and normal people in society drink coffee every morning
without fail every job i have had the caffeine addicts are the highest performers, if you see a guy who has different cup of coffee or can of monster in hand every 2 hours all day you know he's The Man in the shop
>>
>>21755696
Autist here. Apart from the morning where having my cuppa is an enjoyable routine that I absolutely refuse to skip, caffeine puts me to sleep (or has no noticeable effect) at any other time of the day. The amount of times I've snoozed in the afternoon after having a coffee.

No it is not, you're making a bold claim you can't even prove.
There's currently no RCTs that can establish a causal effect to health benefits from coffee consumption.

I stopped drinking soda and energy drinks earlier this year, water only.
It wasn't easy the first few weeks, not in a "I must have some" sense, more a "god this is bland I need something with flavor" sense, but it got easier. Soda water helped, at least it has fizz.

Wikipedia says it's naturally present in tea.
I drink a lot of black tea and never felt more relaxed after drinking it, but I can drink it before bed and still sleep soundly. I can't do that with coffee.
>>
Caffeine really is such a goy trap
>>
>>21754663
I went multiple years with no caffeine after doctors said doing so would help my headaches, nothing changed other than a week of being really tired and then just being a bit less awake feeling after that but it didn't do anything for my headaches. Now I just have some coffee and tea here and there as opposed to the three to five pots of coffee a day I was having before.
>>21756842
>I have pretty bad ADD which is not a disorder

It's in the name. Sure it's not an actual diagnosis anymore, instead just being ADHD (Attention-deficient/hyperactivity disorder) as the updated name for the diagnosis, but that doesn't remove the disorder part.
