The tough part about carnivore is now that my body has been detoxified I've completely lost the taste for slop I used to enjoy

In reality that's a good thing, but also a little sad because cooking was something I really liked but all the food-like substances just taste bad to me now

The extreme sickening bitterness and taste of decay all plant "foods" have is really something. No wonder little kids don't like to eat them, this is how they taste when you haven't been conditioned to their toxins
Even lettuce causes a burning sensation in my mouth
>>
>>21758324
most kids like potatoes at least. i liked fruit and salads as a kid. i actually didn't like candy that much despite people claiming kids always prefer it over everything else.

>Even lettuce causes a burning sensation in my mouth
it's possible you have allergies. or oral allergy syndrome.

nutritional deficiencies can also cause food sensitivities which are likely on severely restricted diets.

i don't think all plant foods are bad but after years of issues i feel like grains and beans aren't really great for some people unless they're heavily fermented to make them easier to digest. a lot of people seem to have issues with them more than anything else. i feel awful if i eat pasta but i tolerate bread a bit more, but still worse than if i eat potatoes.
>>

Carnivore is retarded. Are you doing it to lose weight? Vegetables are not "slop". You're trying to hard to use the board jargon and you're fucking it up.
Just do low-carb and keep eating fiber and greens and things other than red meat. Have some berries and nuts.
You won't be able to sustain that diet and you'll fail in the long run. This board is filled with people trying extreme diets and failing. Just look at the fat, toothless 'godbless' guy. He does that OMAD shit and then binges in response when he can't take any more.
Lettuce contains no toxins. And if you think plants decay, you're eating a dead mammal. I just don't follow your logic on that. Be an omnivore; that's what humans are.

I feel like carnivore would be fine if it wasn't for the fact that the people who try it are all retards. Something reasonable like two eggs for breakfast, a chicken breast for lunch, some fish for dinner, and a multivitamin to supplement the micronutrients you're missing out on would probably be a decent diet if for no other reason than because you're avoiding prepackaged junk foods and being conscious of what you eat. But that's never what the carnivore people do, it's always something completely deranged like three sticks of butter for breakfast, two pounds of cheese for lunch, and three week old fermented raw ground beef for dinner. And then there's the inevitable blogpost where the guy who looks fairly lean and fit actually turns out to have clogged arteries and food poisoning because he's getting 90% of his calories from pure cholesterol and e coli and he's complaining that his doctor has ordered him to eat normally from now on and he seems to have no idea why. It's bizarre.
>>
>>21758350
Protein is not a readily available energy source so the fat might seem excessive to you but if you're not eating carbs you need to replace what you would normally have in carbs with fat instead
A big problem people run into is they're squeamish about eating so much fat because they've been conditioned with the lie that somehow fat is unhealthy despite being an essential nutrient, so they end up under eating or eating too much lean protein relative to the fat intake
>>21758329
>keep eating fiber and greens and things other than red meat. Have some berries and nuts.
Here's the rub, why is it that all animals are able to survive and thrive off of 1 food but for some reason humans are the only ones that require a varied diet with hundreds of options? And we're the only ones with rampant metabolic dysfunction aside from our pets which are eating the same supposedly healthy nutritious foods we are
I've never heard of a lion with type 2 diabetes but plenty of house cats have it
>>
>>21758350
>anime
Entire post ignored.
Too bad, I may have liked to read what you had to say.
>>
>>21758359
>Why are humans different from animals when it comes to diet??

Ooof! How embarrassing for you. We're at the top of the food chain because of our giant and complex brains. But if not understanding the difference between people and the animal kingdom is your reasoning for only eating one thing, go right ahead.
But you've managed to surprise me with how stupid you are, and that's not easy to do on this board.
Good luck!! lol
>>
>>21758367
Go back.
>>
>>21758359
What you say makes sense. Every animal has specific diet.
>>
>>21758324
The tough part about carnivore is the rapid hairloss, ketoacidosis, and myriad of health complications.
>>
>>21758396
I went to nutrition school in 2008 and they told me ketones are bad, but also highly recommended seed oils as healthy foods, even above olive oil because they had more polyunsaturated fat
>>
>>21758359
>why is it that all animals are able to survive and thrive off of 1 food
I don't think that's accurate. There are plenty of omnivorous animals that have issues if they only eat one thing forever. It's not uncommon for wild omnivorous animals to have a varied diet.

>And we're the only ones with rampant metabolic dysfunction
There are some issues with perhaps not everyone really meant to be eating everything causing problems. Some people thrive on milk but others will get sick from it, some people can't digest starch well, etc. But we're also really the only species that has an abundance of food to develop these issues in the first place. Wild animals are kind of limited by having to actually work to get their food which prevents overconsumption. They can't just sit around and have 10k calories shoveled in their mouth.

>I've never heard of a lion with type 2 diabetes
Captive lions probably end up with similar issues if they're overfed. They gain weight too when there's no energy expended to get calories and they're being given too much.
>>
>>21758359
What an utterly retarded post. Wild animals have to fight just to survive, and plenty of them starve to death if they fail one too many hunts. Of course they don't have to worry about fucking diabetes.

> animals surviving and thriving off of one food

What animal survives like that? Have you ever owned a pet? My bearded dragon needs a varied diet of different bugs, fruits, and vegetables. Lol
As a human, we’re more adept at figuring out what works best for us so if eating hella meat makes you feel good keep at it. Just don’t be a retard. If your tongue is itching when eating certain foods, you may have fucked up your iodine, and by consequence your thyroid.
>>
>>21758443
Not ONE food, but a specific diet. Not an endless choice of foods.
>>
>>21758443

>>
>>21758472
>>21758468
Are you a snake? Was your boi thriving or subsisting due to captivity? Wild snakes do not only eat mice. Cave men didn’t only eat meat. Cooking and incorporating foods with more nutrients that support digestion are what allowed human brains to develop beyond monkeys and reptiles. Again, you go ahead and do what feels best for you. Stop justifying it like a retard though lol Get some bloodwork done, a messed up thyroid can kill you
>>
>>21758526
What kinds of things do you think cave men ate exactly? Because none of the plants people eat today even existed back then. Every plant you've ever eaten is entirely man made
Wild greens are toxic and bitter, wold fruits are sour and fibrous, and most importantly only available for like 2 weeks out of the year if you even manage to get to them before the birds and bugs do
Maybe a cave man got lucky and found some honey along the way or a handful of ripe berries once a year but it was all meat otherwise
>>
>>21758372
Go back to what? Being dumb like you? Your response is vague and retarded. Again, like you.
>>
>>21758396
It's just myriad. Not "a myriad of".
"Myriad health complications" is correct.
What is NOT correct, is that foregoing carbohydrates does anything you listed.
>>
>>21758410
Well why trust an accredited nutrition school when Joe Rogan and Sam Hyde acolytes have declared that you need to fear the "seed oils"?
Jump down some rabbit holes and "do your own research". Unlearn what that formal education got you. Didn't you receive the memo? Science is corrupt and gay and rejection of all official facts should be your number one priority. Those nameless X.com accounts are where the 'TRUTH' is at.

>>
>>21758567
That's not true. All of my dogs have had dental issues. Also, humans live much longer and eat a lot of refined sugars to cause cavities. I also don't trust that animals don't get indigestion. I've seen many animals vomit.

You're so sheltered and stupid and yet you think you have real insight. You think you've justified this diet even though people keep pointing out how illogical and retarded it is.

>grains
We might be meant to eat tubers more than grains. Grains are hard to digest which is why they often require so much processing and why pretty much every culture heavily fermented them, but nowadays we're often eating unfermented grain which could be causing problems. Some people say they can tolerate proper sourdough bread but not other forms of wheat.

>fruit
Not really many issues with this though. Fruit is heavily demonized by some people these days, probably because of the prevalence of refined sugar in processed food and how many people have diabetes, but there is pretty much zero evidence of fruit causing any kind of problem whereas with everything else there's evidence in favor and against it.

Hair loss are caused by a black of blood flow to the scalp, which in turn is caused by deficiencies in the muscle regulating minerals: kalcium, sodium, potassium, and magnesium. There are other nutrients that play a factor as well such as collagen.

But the carnivore diet isn't supposed to be all steaks. You're supposed to eat hearts, livers, and kidneys too. If you don't eat it you'll lose out on important nutrients.
>>
>>21758549
> maybe a cave man got lucky
You’re being so retarded to think the biological advantages from cooking and diversifying diets was due to a few lucky cave men. And back to animal analogies, you realize ape/monkey/chimps etc are omnivores. If you really think you need to eat like some other animal (which is really stupid) why choose reptile to emulate lol hell, if you’re at least eating eggs you’ll end up with better nutrient intake. Maybe you should eat like a snake and see how you feel. And get regular blood panels done to know what you need to supplement

I'm not like the steak everyday people, I eat every kind of meat - beef, pork, chicken, lamb, seafood, organs. The only "plant" thing I eat is avocado and sometimes onions when I cook chicken or beef liver, which is once every two weeks. So technically I'm not "Carnivore".

The interesting thing is I don't have random cravings and I'm actually satiated after I eat, on my previous diet I would get hungry all the time or use those dopamin cravings for snacking when I'm bored or watching something on youtube.

>Eating a lot of red meat makes me really sluggish
For me it was the opposite - all the legumes and rise and bread made me feel shitty and I couldn't sleep well. I was eating a lot of beans and lentils which really bloated me and made me sluggish and brain foggy.

But I had a friend who tried Carnivore and it wasn't for him, people are different.

>>21759011
Yeah, just try things out, pay attention to what works and what doesn't. For me personally I felt a real shift after 5-6 months and I stuck to it that long because I was starting to loose fat, my skinny fat "love handles" completely went away so I just said ok let's keep this going and then on the 6 month mark I really felt the no anxiety thing and also my body felt better, before that I was really uncomfortable even though I wasn't really overweight.

>>
>>21759137

>>
>>21759157
Fair but that is a general issue in most stores, partially because those pieces sadly fell out of use.

It is an ahistorical aberration that modern kids grow up without any food scarcity at all. Kids need calories to grow up and until recently, calories were limited. Combined with their smaller stomachs it makes sense that kids love sweets. The sweetest thing kids had access to has likely been honey roasted nuts, or something.

And tbf, kids love fatty and salty foods too.
>>
>>21759137
>Carnivore is mostly retarded because people don't go hard enough and stay picky eaters.
This is the main culprit for carnivore failure is they still take in small amount of sugar and carbs with their fruit and broccoli so their bodies never adapt to using fat effectively
They end up just fucking with their insulin and blood glucose in a way that makes them feel bad
>>21759321
Feel good, I'm 25lbs lighter, my lifting numbers have jumped up suddenly, my joint inflammation is gone, and my gut it's not bloated at all

Cons, needed to adjust water and electrolyte intake because my blood pressure was off and I was getting headaches at first, since you don't hold as much water you need to drink more and have more sodium than if you're eating carbs
If I do eat something "normal" I feel like absolute fucking shit now! Which is probably how I felt all the time before but just didn't notice, but like Thanksgiving I didn't even really go wild, aside from meat I had a scoop of mashed potatoes, a sweet potato, a slice of lemon cheesecake I was so fucking sick all night
And also carnivore insomnia is a thing I've developed but that's not really a problem it's just getting used to
A lot of people find they just need less sleep so they either can't fall asleep at night or wake up way too early. But that's actually fine
You just do biphasic sleep, sleep for 4-5 hours at night then wake up and do some shit then take a nap later if you need one
The thing that makes it difficult for people is if they have a 9-5 they can't just nap in the middle of the day like nature intended
