If you look closely, you can see they advertise their use of Hormel chili.

Why? It's not like Hormel is a luxury brand or anything.

If I had to guess it's because there was a time when weird mystery-meat chilis were in abundance and people at least knew what Hormel was. This would be a holdover from that.
