first sandwich of the day, a club sandwich.
multigrain bread, mayo, pickles, cabbage, tomatoes, bacon, turkey, cheddar. toasted of course.
it was okay, the cabbage was too crunchy, a romaine lettuce would’ve been better but i didn’t have any. i would also have cut the tomatoes thicker next time.
not my best sandwich, but it was still tasty.

stay tuned for my PM snack ;)

here’s my PM snack, a fine peanut butter & jelly.
french white bread lightly toasted, bonne maman strawberry preserve, and kraft dark roast peanut butter.
this was an amazing pb&j. once i’m done with the strawberry preserve i think i’ll get some st dalfour blueberry jam.
>>
forgot to include it in my previous post, but in around 2.5 hours i’ll be posting my final sandwich of the day. any guesses?

final sandwich of the day, a philly cheesesteak.
i burnt the shrooms a bit, but the bread had the perfect texture, which is a shame because i burnt a bit earlier and threw it out.

my bad, the bag says “french whole wheat”
it’s not a fancy bread, but no preservatives in the ingredients, just flour water and yeast. “olivier’s” is the brand

>>21769425
I also used to stick to 100% peanut butter but i’d be lying if i said i didn’t love the more processed stuff

anyway, might be posting another sandwich in an hour or two. might also post a few tomorrow

Rosemary focaccia
Provolone dolce
Hot capocollo
(salt, pepper, basil, oregano, garlic powder, olive oil)
Roasted tomato slices

I’m really oroud of the chili dogs as well, I’d say the bun is to thank for the mess free experience, it was a restaurant style one so it was super pliable and easy to fill up, I was very surprised by the amount of chili i was able to fill it with.
the smoked salmon is definitely a rare treat, i figured i’d do it as a sort of finale for the thread. im really proud of the presentation of the whole thing, and it was delicious of course.

look at that melt. for this, i flipped the omelette and shredded the cheese onto the cooked side, then folded it over with the bread on each side. this way the uncooked egg seeped into the bread, which i let heat on the pan for a bit then i placed it into the panini press

Here's one for ya, my wife has a red meat allergy so last year I bought duck bacon and made BLTs with that. It was a 10/10. If you can find duck bacon, get it. I would argue it's just as good as pork bacon.

Question: do you have your combos already in mind or is it a question of what is left over / available at the time?

I am happy with my shredded chicken sandwich (chicken with some soy sauce, cabbage, cheese, and tomato) and now I am experimenting with mayo and tuna. I am putting corn and mushrooms next time I make one to see if it all goes well.

>yeah when i had some pork pate i made a bahn mi,
I have gotten banh mi twice now and the restaurant didn't even think of adding the required pate...I missed the liver flavors.

You have a panini press, time to make a cuban sandwich and pretend it's a plancha. Look at "sanguich" in Miami or Versailles for inspiration. My fave is the croqueta preparada.
>>
>>21785407
pickles are gross
>>
>>21785394
It’s a combination of both I’d say, sometimes I’ll have something specific in mind, other times I’ll make something based on what I have (the bahn mi wasn’t something I’d have thought to make if I didn’t have pork pate)
If you’re experimenting with tuna salad, I think corn and mushrooms would be a bit bland and probably wouldn’t add much. If you want to add a twist, add sliced up grapes.
