Lagers are better. Alefags get fucked
>>21772934A snakebite - which is lager and cider is the best. This is the way.
doesn't beat the rich aroma of a kellerbier
>>21772934Larger is bland compared to ale
>>21772938only bottoms with supple bussy drink those
I like dem hazy IPAs
>>21773046I don't know why you think that, it's a more potent drink. Unless it's for another reason that your gayness is shining through.
>>21772934Mid to Bad ales are egregious, where a pisswater Lager will at least be session drinkable, sure.
Stouts are best.
>>21773030Anyone who thinks lager is bland has not tried enough beer or is genuinely retarded
>lager>ale>stoutit’s called ‘beer’, stop being pretentious fags.
>>21773386I like doppelbock best.
>>21773378Maybe use google to learn what “compared to” means.
>>21773196Any recs. Was never a big stout guy because the only one I tried was Guinness but I had a few at a pub and now I’m sold. The one I had was some Samuel smith stuff so I can’t get it in supermarkets
I only drink ciderApples are the superior fruit
>>21772934You can all call me a redditor soyboy all you want, but I genuinely believe the ideal of a hopped beer is the IPA/regional PA. As an alcohol I enjoy the extra percentages available, and it's the ultimate if you enjoy hop varieties.
>>21773625*drinks you*
>>21773150What the fuck does "session drinkable" mean you retarded little queer
>>21773654Acceptable for drinking during a JO session with the crystal bros.
For me it's geueze. Plebs need not apply.
>>21773030>Carlsberg Marston’s Brewing Company (CMBC) closed the brewery in November 2023.Oh no no, Hobgoblinbros not like this...
>>21773046Mutts Law
>>21774352What do you think Mutt's Law is?
>>21772958based
>>21773386>carbonara>mac&cheese>baked ziti it’s called ‘pasta’, stop being pretentious fags.
>>21772934Voodoo Ranger ipa 9% abv is literally the only way to drink alcohol
Whole thread and no one mentions abv but me. You people make me sick.
>>21773386Aaaand that's enough /ck/ for today, see you jeets and flyovers tomorrow
>>21773610Compared to ales they are not bland, unless you're dumb
He takes a whiskey drink
>>21772934I imagine the gayest man in the Holy Roman Empire to be like "you know, I enjoy sitting around with my fellow monks and sucking each other off and shit, because that's what 1000 years of eccuminical law says that's what Jesus really loved, but this beer is just too thick."And he prayed and prayed and God delivered him hops.
>>21773612Not the guy you're replying to, but consider trying the other big stouts, Murphy's and Beamish. They should be fairly easy to find, and people often prefer them over Guinness, which doesn't have as much character to me. In my opinion, a pint of Murphy's is pretty reliable. You won't get an undrinkable pint. Beamish is a bit more hit-or-miss, but a good pint of Beamish is fantastic.
>>21772934>I hate flavor
>>21773046Shut up. You're wrong.
>>21772934had a Pilsner Urquell today toothere are many shitty lagers, but the good ones are really goodI've had almost every style of craft beer and nowadays I prefer a nice pilsner over IPAs. maybe rauchbiers and imperial stouts are the only ones that compare
>>21774921Have you told your dad you're gay?
>>21773386>>21774727both of these are correct.
ENTER
>>21774921Same. Luckily my state has been pumping out decent pils and other traditional lagers for a bit now. It's awesome. Utepils is probably my favorite brewery
>>21774950over here the macro lagers are slop, but the Czech imports are always good and small breweries make some good pilsners
>>21775161Tbh I still really like a few of our macros. Budweiser is far and away the worst though
>>21773030>>21774121Oh man I remember that beer
>>21774944>5% abvWhen was your first gay experience?
>>21774879>Guinness, which doesn't have as much character to me. In my opinion, a pint of Murphy's is pretty reliable. You won't get an undrinkable pint. Beamish is a bit more hit-or-miss, but a good pint of Beamish is fantastic. They are all inoffensive, bland beers. Fine drinking, don't get me wrong, but to think one is distinctively superior to another is fucking retarded.
>>21775735>caring about alcohol contentare you 12?what adult drinks beer to get wasted - that takes forever
>>21773386This. I've tried it all and it all just tastes like beer.
>>21776005a stout tastes the same as a pilsner to you? did you lose your tastebuds in some accident?
>>21776067I don't consider stout to be beer.
>>21773386Helles (Augustiner or Mooser Liesl)Weißbier (Erdinger)Bockbier (all good, but any Eisbock especially)ausländischer Kackscheiß (I'm fond of Asahi because weaboo)Tertiary beer enjoyers need not reply.Secondaries (non-bavarians), give me your favorite beer and I'll try (and not enjoy) it.
>>21772934They taste like piss
>>21772934i really really like literally every beer except IPA. some times im so excited to have one that i shake
>>21774950Utepils is easily the best in our state.
>>21774121>>21775720It hasn’t gone no place
Sorry but I'm not a lala homo boy that denies the superiority of a well made ipa
>>21777655>ipa superiority>tries to imply someone else is a homol e l z
>>21777234You know who else made a great pils? Summit. Their kellerpils was perfect. I think Bauhaus puts out some good stuff at their taphouse but their distributed crap is whatever. Wonderstuff is a good pils as well though
>>21776540Rotes, fick dich Weischwaschtelspast
>>21773077Ipas make me fart like crazy
>>21777655>well made ipaThat's the problem, of course, they're hard to find. "Extreme" IPAs have become the default for every new, inexperienced brewer because they're easy, just add MOAR HOPS, ALL THE HOPS, forget about any sense of balance. Like r/HotSauce, it becomes a pissing contest, an arms race to appease "Hopheads". Don't get me wrong, I like super-hoppy beers on occasion, but it gets old quick when you visit a new brewpub and half the menu is IPAs of this kind. We've gotten to the point where breweries making classic/traditional styles actually have to advertise that as a selling point. I'm old enough to remember before "craft", when microbrew IPA was closer to "regular" pale ale with some added richness.
>>21779732I like different styles of beer. A guinness is just as fun to me as a good kolsche or pilsner or hefeweizen or pale ale. And yeah it’s unfortunate that a lot of the local stuff to me, like St Arnold’s out of houston or the millions of places in austin, all have about a bajillion super-mega-hyper IPAs. Are they easier to brew? Or is it just what a millennial-dominated market demands?I don’t hate IPAs, but there are too damn many of them.
