Next Friday a girl friend is visiting over the weekend. Friday is her birthday. I'm on business travel on Wednesday and Thursday and will arrive back home on Thursday around 11pm. Work next day, probably leaving early around 2 pm. She'll likely come around the later afternoon/early evening. What kind of birthday cake should I make in the limited time I have to impress her? Can I reasonably prepare something on Monday/Tuesday? Should I do late-night baking at Thursday? I thought about a pancake cake filled with jam and cream. Do you guys have any ideas?
Microwave chocolate cake.
>>21773161I absolutely LOVE the idea of a pancake cake. I’m assuming you know at least a little about her tastes though? If she’s a chocolate fan like many women, it would be very simple to do a chocolate cake, chocolate frosting, and maybe a middle layer of cherry or raspberry preserves. Also i wouldn’t advise baking before your trip. I’ve gotten up early to bake a cake before, and let it rest while I’m at work. The night before would be fine too for just getting the cake part done. Pancakes should be fresh as possible tho..
>>21773161store bought cake and impress her by farting harder and smellier than any hard smelly fart she's ever taken a whiff of before
Jello cake. But I also stand by the fart guy.
>>21773161>What kind of birthday cake should I make in the limited time I have to impress herFlourless. The MOIST dark chocolatey kind. Raspberry preserves or glaze. Or cheesecake.

>>21773624Honestly this guy understands. The flourless dark chocolate kind, that are low profile and minimalist and with some raspberry garnish is dramatic and decadent and pretty easy.
>>21773161>>21773190Also, pancake cake sounds lazy. Like you didn't want to make a real cake. A crepe cake is a little fancier but no one's expecting you to learn to make paper thin crepes alluvasudden. Also, do it the night before. Cakes go stale fast, especially homemade cakes. If you do one Monday/Tuesday it may dry out before Friday.
>>21773715Pancake cake sounds yummy and plenty of effort would go into it. You’re still making a batter and some sort of filling. Instead of one pour and bake, you’re making several layers that need active cooking. My one hesitation is still whether or not this girl likes chocolate..
>>21773161What about a cheesecake late Tuesday and then do some cream puffs on Friday after work?
