It seems rich people just get the same brand of soda as everyone else. Actually, there are soda for poor people. But not the other way.

There are many small-batch sodas, including root-beer.
There's a root-beer made north of here that's out-of-this-world.
I'm not sure on colas specifically, but I am sure they exist, somewhere.

the problem is assuming rich people drink soda. They'll have sparkling water, maybe with some flavour added to it if they want to drink something bubbly.

I can tell you've never tried to look very hard. You just can't usually find it in a regular grocery store. I also think if you're rich enough and you care about it, you could even make it yourself and it'd probably be good.
Look up 'artisan cola' or 'high-end cola' and you'll see a few pricey brands. I have only had had picrel, (aside from pepsi, coke, generic store brands, and RC,) for $2.29USD per 12oz can and it was ASS. I saw people on social media drinking it so i got a few flavors and fell victim to a scam.

I guess if you had to point to something it'd be those homemade soda machines but Coke is already a luxury product, it's abnormal and unwise to drink it constantly. Then again maybe abnormal isn't the right word since poorfags are constantly guzzling sugarwater like it's waterwater.

>why is there no rich person version of (extremely basic vice that needs no frills)
There are but they don't sell a lot because some things are actually just cheap and good and can't be made better by throwing money at them.
Soda in particular is just water, sugar, and carbonation, no amount of retarded probiotics or exotic extracts can significantly improve on that basic formula.

It's like asking why there's no rich person version of fried chicken or weed.
>>
>>21773794

Someone clearly hasn't been to a dispensary ever, there's tons of artisan growers and ridiculously priced rosins.
As for soda, there's really only one way to improve it: add FRESH fruit juice, which drastically shortens the shelf life.

Crates of Coca-Cola that have stood for 3 months or more in a cellar owned by Britney Spears automatically become a version of Coca-Cola for the rich people. If you also invite the priest of Asatru to bless the Coca-Cola before putting it in the cellar, or a sorcerer to put a beneficial spell on them, there will be additional beneficial effect.

Poulet de Bresse. It's at least £39 per kg/$18 per lb fresh and raw so a whole bird can cost $100 or so. It would be an absolute waste to fry but considering the prevalence of "wagyu" burgers (or even ones made from proper A5 wagyu) these days, I guarantee someone somewhere has fried a poulet de Bresse and charged an exorbitant fee for it.

I think you might be surprised at what goes on in rich people's pantries.
Real wealth, not Nouveau riche.
It's the alcohol that is expensive, Not generally the mixers.
In addition, you must understand, and this is where tryhard materialists get it wrong, the cost of the ingredients or materials isn't nearly as important as the skill of the chef or craftsman who lmakes them into something.
When you look at the actual COST of ingredients of a 3 Star, 5 course, it can be as little as $20-$30. Same goes with the homes.
It's only due to the grasping "Upwardly mobile" that the costs for much of the materials, and the craftsman themselves have gone up so much in recent years.(starting in the 80s)
>>
>>21777457
Good meat tends to be expensive, but I agree that you don't usually need to go overboard to get an excellent meal.
The big idea behind restaurants is that they make stuff that's hard as balls to make solo and they can also throw around the kind of money to source rare shit like Tristan lobster (good but not worth it more than once).

Yes the alcohol is expensive, that’s why I said cocktails.
>>
>>21777461
Very true.
Much of today's market is steeped in outsourced cost.
I suppose my point was that the raw materials are inexpensive but the care and preparation of them is where the value lies.
Take equestrianism for example; 100-120 years ago, most everyone had horses.
Now it's a very expensive pastime/hobby.

The basic stocks which flavor much of a high caliber meal are made from what many consider "Kitchen garbage", yet in skilled hands and given time and knowledge, that stockpot of "Garbage" alchemically becomes MAGIC.
(I knew you knew this, but there are lurkers about who may benefit)
>>21777483
Okay.. But Scotch neat or Bourbon straight would be the same cost relatively as a good dry Martini.
The thread is about the BUBBLY SUGAR WATER, not the adjuncted ethanol.

>The basic stocks which flavor much of a high caliber meal are made from what many consider "Kitchen garbage", yet in skilled hands and given time and knowledge, that stockpot of "Garbage" alchemically becomes MAGIC
You probably have a better cooking range than I do, but I can vouch for your experience with regards to my own cooking. French Onion Soup is one such recipe that lives and dies on patience.
You have
>butter
>onions
>beef stock
>cheap white wine
And it becomes one of the best soups on the market simply by waiting the hour plus it takes to caramelize the onions properly. Springing for a better beef stock is usually worth it, though.

I've seen weird sizes in rich people places. This was over 20 years ago when you couldn't just get anything online. They had the little tiny cans and little glass bottles and just slightly differently shaped than you could get in stores. I saw them in really fancy steakhouses and upscale hotel minibars and I never saw them outside of those places.

And for a long time if you lived near a bottler you could still get sodas in thick, vintage glass bottles from the 70s and 80s. The longnecks. But you were expected to return them and keep them in circulation and people kept keeping them until so many were gone that they phased the system out. It was cool because you could just take your rack of 24 to the bottler and switch them out for full ones, whatever it cost, which was dirt fucking cheap I remember because you kind of had to know about it to get in on it as a private citizen. And there were several old vending machines in businesses in town where you could get them. And a couple restaurants carried them too. Really interesting containment and coin-op systems some of those refrigerators had. You'd find them in warehouses and back offices and if your dad worked there you could get a 25 cent ice cold bottle of Dr. Pepper (with the 10, 2, and 4 on the bottle) or Squirt or RC Cola maybe. Mello Yello was there sometimes. Sunkist orange. They were so heavy. And you had to use the wall-mounted opener because they weren't twist off. The edges of the bottles would be rough where they rubbed against each other in transit for decades.
That's been over with for almost 20 years now. But it was cool how it just stayed the same price and this little town secret until it was over. It was going to be over anyway as they became a distributor only and stopped bottling locally. That kind of thing happened to a lot of towns.
Now all the machines take e-payments and the drinks start at $2.50. I think I saw one didn't accept coins.
>>
>>21779720
Between the caffeine, the sugar, and the flavor, I can see how people get hooked on Coke. There was a time when I was 11 or 12 I was drinking way too much of it. I got into adding lemon and vanilla to it. And I'd make Coke ice cubes to put into the Coke as not to dilute it.
And it wasn't always Coke. My dad would get store brands when he shopped. And Coke even then seemed more addictive than other colas. I always prized its flavor over all others.
