The food and cooking world has never been more wrong about something. Air fryers are fucking awesome.
They are starting to make glass ones? Interesting...does it have a teflon pad at the bottom?
Just like how kei trucks have just been approved for sale in the USPeople are tired of bloated expensive appliances they never useIts barely slower then a microwave and actually heats things evenly. No reason not to have one
>>21774474What a sad thing to collect.
>>21774480Talk about your misuse!! Fucking boiling liquids now? Wow. Next someone's going to use it as an actual deep fat fryer and explode themselves. You mark my words. Some dumb fuck is going to pour it 4/5 full of canola oil and blast it on high to make real fries. If he times opening it just right and is filming himself you will see something that will finally get through to you maybe.
>>21774495This is from a real video, this guy was frying his chicken in oil lol.
>>21774495See what exactly? You think putting oil under a broiler is dangerous?
>>21774474buyanad.
>>21774534it is extremely dangerous if the type of person doing it is an air fryer enthusiast.
>>21774535why?
>>21774489They look incredibly annoying to clean. Not worth it unless you want to subsist on frozen fried foods>>21774832Good point but it's so annoying
>>21774474>Air fryers are fucking dogshit.ftfy.
>>21774839>frozen fried foodsIt's good for more than just that. I've had perfect boneless pork ribs, chicken drumsticks, fish, etc. etc. out of an air fryer. Gonna make some Swai this morning - pat it dry and add seasoning, stick it in for 17 minutes at 390 degrees F. I enjoy pan frying, but air fryers are perfect for when you're busy and you can't attend a pan for 20 minutes in the morning.
>>21774474i never really got the hate for air fryers. is there something im missing? people act like theyre awful, but I use mine as a second oven and it works the same if not better in some cases. I mean its not Gods gift to cooking or anything but I still like it.
>>21774480>They are starting to make glass ones?
>>21776132It's a retarded kind of hate too - "IT'S JUST AN OVEN, Y U BUY OVEN DUMMY", when it's not a fucking oven at all, it's an air fryer. Ovens do not run their fans the whole time - just to regulate temp. Air fryers run a high velocity fan constantly to ensure max airflow over foods to force a dehydrating effect. Coupled with oil, you get a frying effect with less oil. Ovens DO NOT DO THIS, and if you cook you know this. Which makes all the contrarian posts troll posts - designed to make actual cooks angry as fuck that some dumbass on the internet has no idea how their tools work. Which is why they post - guaranteed (You)s.
>>21777441i mean my oven literally has a convection mode but i get your point. I think alot of people assume all air fryers are the basket kind but my air fryer has french doors and it makes me feel fancy
My sister in law doggedly refuses to consider a toaster oven (all of which come with convection features now), and will instead fire up the entire ACTUAL oven and burn enough electricity to keep the entire nation of liechtenstein's lights on for an hour, just to warm up some old bread or whatever. She claims that toaster ovens are a "waste of kitchen space" (her kitchen is larger than some people's apartments). And yet in this past year she got an air fryer just for one task: to reheat frozen nuggies for her kids who somehow have no time to cook for themselves, despite being not in school (or working). It sits on the floor most of the time. She evidently thinks they're marvellous inventions on par with the transistor and the internal combustion engineI'm not saying air fryers are bad, I'm just saying the process through which they get acquired, discovered to be pointless, and retroactively rationalized makes me feel like I've drank some kind of brain-cell-killing drug when I try to understand it. So I can see why some people get their panties in a twist on the topic. They're just another sign that the west is collapsing. I try hard to hate the game and not the player but come on people. These things are a solution invented to solve a problem no one had.
>>21778021>will instead fire up the entire ACTUAL oven and burn enough electricity to keep the entire nation of liechtenstein's lights on for an hourIt's not much electricity
>>21778026I don't care, why would you wait a half hour to preheat your oven so you could heat up your frozen bagel when a toaster oven does it in 1/10th the time?
>>21778028Why can't you stop exaggerating like a histrionic bitch? And toaster ovens fucking suck compared to air fryers. Any negative press you can throw at air fryers goes double towards toaster ovens. I get plenty of use out of my two-door air fryer and the second I got it, the toaster oven was 100% obsoleted.
>>21778046I had an air fryer i got as a christmas present, it was FINE but that was about the best I can say about it. I don't think you've tried a modern toaster oven.
>>21774480>They are starting to make glass ones? That's what I said, and then promptly bought one. Yeah still a non stick pad in the bottom for elevation but not as bad as the others
>>21774839>They look incredibly annoying to clean.I have the one on the front center. It's literally just a glass bowl that you can toss in the dishwasher.
>>21778057I don't think you've tried a proper two-door air fryer. A cheap toaster oven is better than a shitty basket air fryer but a decent french door air fryer is better than a good toaster oven. Just depends on how much of a cheap shit you want to be.
>>21774474Why do you have to cook your food in a plastic machine?
>>21778066>that tiny little emeril lagasse logo in the cornerhigh quality bait
>>21778066why would you ever use a door design like that for an oven?that has terrible insulation
>>21778100The smaller volume and constant convection heating nullifies that, and the french doors also cut down on the effective space it takes up be cutting the length of the open door in half. Plenty of professional kitchens use french door oven design for that reason.>>21778092I got that exact one from my father in law as a gift and it's actually very good. I don't know about any other Emeril product out there.
