What are you giving this year? I used to go super-duper fancy, going to boutique places that would assemble a custom box. Spent $120 on one last year. It became clear though that the people I was giving it to weren’t really equipped to appreciate it, so I took it down a notch this year.

>>21775139Why spend money on something that someone won’t appreciate?
>>21775134The one and only.

They prefer hershey chocolate over the fancy shit.I got my mom the Tony Chocolonely sampler, and that's still probably too fancy for her boomer tastes.
I do not and will not eat candy
>>21775208More for the rest of us.
>>21775334enjoy beetus
>>21775134I normally just get the Belgian assortment from Costco. >>21775195If they like See’s Chocolates they sell $50 of gift cards at Costco for $40
>>21775134>super duper
>>21775134There was a local chocolate store that made the best chocolate I've ever fucking had in the middle of the bumfuck of the midwest. Even fancy-ass Belgian chocolate wasn't as good. The owners got old and retired, but instead of selling their business they gave it to their kids who then moved to texas and upped the price 3x.I still dream about that chocolate.
>>21775150>Why spend money on something that someone won’t appreciate?UHHHH....make them put on weight?
The only person I'd give a box of fine chocolates to is me.
You're supposed to buy a fancy looking box. Normies don't care about the content, they want "instagrammable" boxes.
>>21775523funny how that stuff can be hidden out there. loved my hometown's oldest chocolate shop. still around thankfully
>>21775186why are these a punchline now? it's not like they're bad or anything
>>21776150It's sort of like how hot dogs aren't as big in New York as they used to be. Tastes evolve, people (generally) become aware of other cuisine, more options, over the decades. Whitman's was probably considered great when it came out but we do better chocolates now.
>>21775134I feel you OP, I gave something like this to my parents once and they were drooling idiots about it
>>21777748>they were drooling idiotsBlood runs true.
I don't hate them but they're honestly always such a dissapointment, especially nowadays with the shrinkflation there's barely any pieces in a box and only 1 layer too.
>>21775134The party tray looks like a better buy.
>>21777748Did you try the olive one?
