Do you actually have to perform maintuhnence on these things or is it okay to just clean them sometimes?
>>
i just wipe mine with a paper towel when the crumbs in the bottom get so deep that I can smell them burning.

the inside of these things don't stay pretty for long, and the harder you try to keep them that way, the less you'll enjoy it.
>>
Yeah just clean sometimes. I figured I could dry-run on maximum to burn off the residues but without anything inside to absorb the heat that can damage it.

Just a quick soap and water wash for the baskets while they're still hot.

It's really easy to just wash it after cooking like you would with pans and trays. It wouldn't get gross if you don't let things cook on for several cycles.

people act like all you have to do is clean the trays but inside where the fan and heating element is gets fucking nasty
>>
>>21775190
Clean it after every use, what are you, fucking Killdozer?
>>
>>21775190
You have to season the tray
>>
>>21775190
diluted vinegar is a great way to decrap those things.
>>
>>21775296
it's just fat splashes that have polymerized, if you have a cast iron skillet it's no different to the seasoning on that.
>>
do you need to preheat the larger air fryers
>>
>>21775190
I just put the basket in the dishwasher every once in a while and that's it.
it's still going strong after many years

Just get the parchment cup cake thingy.
The inside of my 5 year old ninja looks like the crematorium at auchwitz.
>>
>he didn't do his 5000 potato maintenance
never gonna make it
>>
>>21776554
No, that's the whole point. Otherwise I'd just use the convection setting on the oven.
>>
>>21775296
While you could clean this area with a wire brush. What is the point? It gets 400 degrees and nothing is going to survive that.

Geeze, proof air fry tards are just lazy.
>>

I have had the same air fryer since 2019. The only thing I've done is deep clean it. What are you getting at, oh wise air fryer master? What am I supposed to do for maintenance if you're so smart and not just a typical boring 4chan contrarian (you) guy?
>>
if you don't clean it after every use the walls get coated in sticky oil residue. I'm not an animal so I clean mine after every use just like I clean my pans after cooking in them. it's not difficult.
>>
>>21775296
>rubs the seasoning off
wtf airNOOBS
>>
>>21775265
Yup, the area above the fans will get gross no matter what. Unless you're willing to take a bottle cleaning brush and carefully spray dawn spray(the soap with rubing alcohol added) and going at it for a few minutes, it'll keep getting grosser and grosser.

I did a deep clean on the cosori one i bought when they first came out(literally 2 months before it got recalled too) and even after scrubbing, it still gave off a burnt-oil smell from the oil getting even deeper into the machine. Reality is they are disposable machines.... keep it reasonably clean, but expect to replace it every 5 or 6 years.
>>
>>21776554
Officially, they do instruct you to preheat them for a few minutes, but there is absolutely no reason to do so. Especially when putting frozen slop on them.

>it's just fat splashes that have polymerized

At high temperatures, these create nasty cancerous things. After certain dishes, one ought to bump up the cleaning cycle. If you're cooking things that don't lend itself to that, generally 380F and below, it ought to be fine in the long view. Then again, anything remotely processed is likely to have bullshit contributing to the above effect. So no-- don't treat it like a cast iron.

what is that from, 1999?
