Here's your mexican food bro
>>
>>21775391
This is why "authentic" is not synonymous with "good" in cuisines.
>>
Gracias, anonito
>>
>one tortilla

This did not come from a Mexican taquería.
>>
>>21775625
Yeah that's the fuckin problem here, pedro.
>>
>>21775631
afraid of a few little bugs? what are you, a ten year old girl?
>>
>>21775391
that's for tourists and indios, normal people don't eat that
>>
>>21775636
No normal tourist is willingly eating bug tacos
>>
>>21775391
Antojito de medianoche si o no mi buen Oscar
>>
>>21775634
>You won't eat traditional bugs!? What are you scared?
I'm not afraid of anti-freeze either, doesn't mean I'd want to consume that. I'll leave you to your shitty bug taco, you can have mine too bud.
>>
>>21775391
not messcan but i love avocado with bugs YUM
>>
>>21775636
>>21775639
My friend did. He went to Mexico to eat at places Anthony Bourdain liked and go to a place where they make homemade Mezcal. He ended up liking the grasshoppers. But to me that kind of food seems like stuff they would sell to tourists who are not in on the joke.
>>
>>21775645
except anti-freeze is dangerous to consume, while chapulines is a delicious and harmless food. you seriously don't like crab or shrimp either?
>>
>>21775649
>not in on the joke
Is this latinx in on the "joke" as well? >>21775654
>>
>>21775654
Crab and shrimp are nothing like grasshoppers. Shellfish actually have meat. This non-argument is only ever trotted out by fags trying to gaslight normal people into eating insects or by losers who think they are interesting for hearing about an irrelevant taxonomic factoid.
>>
>>21775657
so? you don't like the skin on a chicken thigh? you don't have potato chips or vegetables sometimes?
they just have to fit some arbitrary standard of soft meat to chitin ratio i guess. by that logic you don't eat all the meat off your chicken wings because after you've taken a few bites, gasp, it's 80% bone now! now i can't eat it! for your sake i will doubt that's true.
therefore, we've established you like the taste of such creatures, you also are more than capable of eating things with very little meat (otherwise you would never finish your food would you), but these things are just off-limits. what's the real reason?
i'm sure you realize your logic makes no sense, you just find bugs icky.
most importantly, you've never even had chapulines. if you had, you could simply say "i don't like them" instead of this absurd nonsense...
>>
>>21775666
because we can afford to just get a taco with real meat instead
>>
>>21775666
>some arbitrary standard of soft meat to chitin ratio I guess
When I remove the shrimp's shell I get 100% soft meat to 0% chitin. Grasshopper is pretty much the opposite. I enjoy eating the soft meat and do not enjoy the chitin because I'm not a psychopath like you.
>you took a few bits and now the wing is 80% bone what are you gonna do!
I don't eat the bone. Just the meat. I take bites of the meat until the meat is gone. I don't eat shrimp shells, I eat the meat and when it's done I do not eat the tails or the outer shell. It's very logical and the logic is simple:I will eat the parts of food that I enjoy and will not eat what I do not enjoy or is inedible.
>you've never had capulines
I've not had that specific traditional mexican preparation but I've had fried grasshoppers at the insistence of someone as annoying as you and it was ass. You fucking no-taste chitin-stuffer.
>>
>>21775671
ok... fine... that makes sense...in all honesty i've never had chapulines and bugs freak me out

Anybody ever have "authentic" chinese food? :[
>>
>>21775639
>No normal tourist is willingly eating bug tacos
ehh, michelin starred chefs like to toss it onto the menus, all traditional-like and authentic, but no, regular people don't need or want something only edible with a deep fryer, lots of lime and chiles. It is like chile-limon cacahuates. And, it is easily sold at the open markets, all day every day, if you look for it, but it's used as a garnish mostly, not a taco. I am sure it helped keep people alive in the desert, historically.

chapulines are a standard thing to serve at Mezcalerias.
>>
>>21775391
beans are disgusting. bugs aren't fit for human consumption. I prefer california mexican. it's better than mexico.
>>
I still don't get the bug hate.
I am strictly talking about bugs as food, not being forced to eat ze bugs.
But bugs and crustaceans are almost the same, and if they aren't picked from your mom's rancid fat folds, I don't see an issue here, apart from bugs tasting like fuckall.

Burmese cuisine includes lots of insect dishes
of course not in restaurants
