I want to get into hunting. I hear small game is the easiest thing to hunt. I don't want to eat squirrels. What are some good rabbit dishes?
>>
>>21776773
are you trying to get into it as a necessity or do you just want to hurt animals for fun
>>
>>21776774
why would it matter?
>>
rabbit is basically only good in a stew.
>>
>>21776799
that sounds like a good idea. /k/ was saying stews are a good way to let any shot you missed fall out of the meat

>rabbits and squirrels are harder to hunt than durr
maybe on planet retard
>>
>>21776885
I can literally shoot deer from my living room window they are fucking stupid and they're large targets
>>
>>21776894
same, but with rabbits
>>
>>21776799
Bullshit, I grill it all the time, it's a fine meat. Squirrel is fucking nasty and only good for stew, though.
>>
>>21776774
some men hunt for sport,
others hunt for food,
the only thing I'm hunting for,
is an outfit that looks good...
>>
>>21776773
They're both good. BBQ the suckers. Or put them in pie. Probably have invasive squirrels you can help reduce at the same time.
>>
>>21776778
killing is a pretty big deal and I think you know that
>>
>>21778084
it's a rabbit. it's going to die anyway

Growing up in the Scottish highlands, I used to go rabbiting with a shotgun and my ferrets. This was way back when gun ownership was common in bongland.
Almost always ended up in a big pot of stew with potatoes, carrots, onions and a big bunch of herbs.
Pheasant is delicious too, I don't know if you have those in North America though.

You are putting the cart before the horse by making a thread on /ck/. Learn to hunt first.
>>
>>21778578
they have stocked pheasants here
>>

That sounds pretty comfy.

We live in a sad world where fatherless chuds like OP (and you, and me) want to learn traditional life skills, but if you post an ad on Craigslist asking for an experienced hunting buddy, you'll probably get raped and murdered in the woods so that some guy can recharge his crystal. Do you have any idea what it's like trying to skin a buck for the first time when your only guide is a Youtube video coming in at 240p because the nearest cell tower is 40 miles away?
>>
>>21779316
It probably sucks. You don't need youtube or dumb anons, you know what needs to be done. You need to cut the skin off the deer, if you just go to it you will struggle and fuck it up and learn a lot for next time and wind up with a bunch of usable meat anyway. Good luck.

Hunting deer should only be allowed with a chainsaw. If you can get close enough to a deer to slice its head off with a chainsaw, you are the master hunter and are entitled to its flesh and soul.
