With prices like this, it’s no wonder Bar-S is #1.

I think it’s unanimously agreed that they are the worst. But when you only a couple bucks in your pocket and right hankering for a glizz, what are you gonna do
>>
Hey buddy get me a pack of those turkey dogs as long as you're at the store.
>>

They must throw out those Applegate ones all the time. Who’s paying $10 for a pack of hot dogs?
>>
>>21778258
The Food Lion near where I used to live marked them down constantly because apparently few people purchased them at full price. They were usually marked down by 60%-80% so I'd buy a bunch and throw them in the freezer.

Oddly enough they used to be somewhat reputable. I guess that was back when people were more accepting of hot dogs in general though.

I remember when those packs of Bar S were only 99¢ each. Also, those weenies just shrivel to half their size when you apply heat to them since they're mostly water. They also smell pretty bad.

The pricier ones like Ball Park and even Farmer John have actual fat and don't smell nearly as bad. Nathan's have a shit load of grease, but taste miles better.

Huh, I guess there was something to Ball Park's slogan after all.

Yes, meanwhile cheapo Bar S does the exact opposite. Even the cheap bologna. However, I did discover once that their "smoked sausage" variety does have actual fat so they're actually decent.

Interesting fact: Bar S is owned by the same Mexico-based parent company (Sigma) as FUD.

They're absolutely dog shit tier.

we always had oscar mayer when I was a kid, it was okay, but when I grew up I wondered why most hot dogs had snappy skins. oscar mayer never had that.

you're on drugs.
bar s is the toppest of notches because a hot dog is not meant to be expensive.
best dogs on the market.
>>
I don't mind bar-s. it's a good delivery service for bread and whatever condiments you save from fast food. i like chinese hot mustard. haven't been to walmart in a while so i'm out of sweet relish

Good old story. I was at a Walmart in Bryan college station on vacation to a near by farm. Some old timer and his wife come strollen by the doggers. I'm looking for an all beef natural casing dog. This woman tells the man, we have a little extra money you can splurge on your weiners. This man then spends the next few minutes going over every other brand only for him to turn to his wife and say I don't know what the other ones taste like. She tells him, get what you always get then. So he grabs the pack of barS. I've never felt so much despair for a man. You know he microwaves them to.

No, as someone frugal I can relate to a man who has his preferred cheap brands. Also when you get old enough something new could disturb your GI and that is not fun. Perhaps they decided to splurge on something else that day. Ice cream or something.
>>
I used to buy Bar S and used them as dog treats lmao
Just slice them into chunks and freeze it. Nuke a chunk when you wanna treat your pupper.
That shit is absolutely not fit for human consumption.
Also, learn to fucking shop, Jesus. I was just in the supermarket the other day and Oscar Meyer were on sale $2.29 or so. I forgot, but it wasn't any of that $5.39, $6.39 or $3.79 bullshit
>>
That's a 50% jump in price. That's a significant boost when you think about it.
>>
>>21778258
That explains why the Applegate uncured unsalted bacon I bought was marked down...
>>
>>21778361
I wonder what Poles would think if you brought this product over to Poland.
>>
>>21780479
I don't think anyone is going to eat it and think it's genuine. Just something different to break the monotony for non sausage snobs.
