This is Bündnerfleisch,air-dried beef that is made in just one region of Switzerland.
>>21778247Is it like jerky?
>>21778247If it's not made in the bünden region of switzerland, it's just beef ham.
>>21778259probably more like ham, but in beef form
>>21778247Can you cream it and serve it on toast
>>21778259>>21778355No, it's likely similar to biltong
>>21778259looks more like Turkish bacon
You can just make your own you don't need special magic mountain jew air
>>21778374>rootless cosomopoolitan can't fathom terroir
>>21778247Neat
>>21778382>dis nigga be eating swiss dirtLMAO
>>21778396>can't fathom terroirunironically sad
>>21778382>The raw material for Bündnerfleisch sold in Switzerland is sourced locally, whereas export goods are often made from foreign beef.Yeeeah.
>>21778409unfathomably based
>>21778419We don't call them mountain jews for no reason.
>>21778409Obviously as the importing countries would otherwise notice the difference between their good meat and the horrible Swiss meat. They'd never buy it ever again.
>>21778423why serve truffle fries to someone who thinks ketchup is gourmet?
>>21778399>sniff sniff>ah, yes, Graubünden air>spicy, with hints of cow dung>egad!>is that a trace of authentic alpine rock I perceive?
>>21778423I thought that's what we called mormons? Or am I confuse?
>>21778490I thought it refers to those Appalachian weirdos who think they're the true Jews.
>>21778500Are those the ones that worship snakes? Or this that some other flavor of appalachian wierdos?
It must not be very good if they only make it in one little place
>>21778352>>21778247It's just beef ham anyhow. Had that yesterday funnily enough, but already sliced and from, I'd love to spoiler this for comedic effect, JA!
>>21778382ol' dubya jr. dun got ridda them terris
Stag Bündner Mostbröckli mogs.
>>21778247what kind of sandwich would you put this in?
>>21778247>>21778374God that looks Good>>21778363Literal roachfood
>>21778615>mostbröckli aus flims
>>21778247it's basically the same as bresaola or slinzega, which are made in the Valtellina alpine region of northern Italy, near Switzerland.
>>21778431Sometimes its fun to cast pearls before swine just to see what happens.
>>21778259it's a softer than jerky, you can slice it thinly and make sandwiches with it
it's rotting
>>21778490Nah, the proper nomenclature is "Black Hebrews of the West".
>>21778838>Valtellina alpine regiongood region that one
>>21778247>>21778259>>21778362>>21778374>>21778615>>21778838How come there's literally no bad form of dried beef? It's all peak cuisine.
>>21778987Humans can sustain on an omnivorous diet, but when pressed to our limits, we become obligate carnivoresSo dense meat is awesome
>>21778838>basically the same as bresaolabasically false
>>21778966>good region that onethey have a few great dishes like- pizzoccheri (kinda like short tagliatelle made of buckwheat flour and seasoned with butter, a mix of local cheeses, potatoes, sage and savoy cabbage)- polenta taragna (also made with buckwheat flour and seasoned with the same mix of cheese and butter)- sciatt (deep fried battered chunks of cheese)- biscioeula (christmas cake similar to panettone, but denser and with other ingredients like hazelnuts and dried figs)
>>21779008>air dried salted slab of beef>"nooooo, it's totally different!!!1!!"the main difference is that bündnerfleisch is pressed (hence the square shape), but they're still very similar
>>21779035you wouldn’t be saying that if you’d actually tried them
>>21779041I live less than 100 kilometers from Valtellina and I eat bresaola all the time. I also tried bündnerfleisch a couple times.from what I remember, bündnerfleisch is denser and has a more intense/spicier taste, and is more similar to slinzega, another cold cut from Valtellina that I alredy mentioned along with bresaola in my previous post.
>>21778996>when pressed to our limits, we become obligate carnivoresBarring some kind of affliction that would prevent you from eating fruits & vegetables I don't think this is a true statement.
>>21779072While we can compliment our diets with sugars and carbohydrates, when actually exercising to our extremes, we can't consume and digest enough to replace and repair proteins and we become obligate carnivoresWe are omnivores, because we are essentially hunter-gatherers, but when we exceed that lifestyle we require meat to meet our caloric needsYou could make the argument that there are meat substitutes that provide the same calorie needs but they would also need to be as bioavailable and digestible which is a tall ask even for the best of them
>>21779069
>>21779091Lol
>>21779094Enjoy your lentils
>>21778996Curious about what those limits would be. Even vegans do alright if they have a source of B12.
>>21779117They're the limits when your body starts to break down for lack of meatHave you never met them?
>>21778247That looks badass. Would something like that hold up well for backpacking, or does it need to be climate controlled?
>>21779140It might get some mold on it, just cut it off you'll be fine
>>21779133No. I tend to do alright for protein, even when I'm off meat to boycott price gouging. I've given myself a touch of the rabbit starvation once - that was less than fun - but that was shittonnes of cardio with a diet of very lean meat and greens with no lipids.
>>21778363God damn turks are annoying about their shitty food
>>21778374Based Opa Jochen enjoyer.
Tastes like shit, but it's all Euros have left to brag about
>>21780088Seethe brownie, seethe.
>>21780097Lmao, Euro food is fucking trash, I'm so glad Americans made you obselete.
>>21780102Lol
>>21780102Americans love to import european food.
>>21780102>AMERKA! FUCK YEAR!>t. America.
>>21778352Designated origin of production is fake and gayFuck any nigger that tries to create a monopoly on their foodYou will hang on the day pf the rope inshuallah
>>21780154The Day of the Rope is PDO, you charlatan. Get out of here with your chicanery.
>>21780154insulin-laced hands typed this post>>21779069B- rp. Italians only eat Dutch potatoes and refuse anything else that's foreign.>>21778247>>21778838Pretty great but it's no filet d'Anvers which costs 1/4 the Italian price. As a result bresaola etc are 50% cheaper in Belgium than they are in Italy and Switzerland. And Dutch potatoes in Italian supermarkets are cheaper than they are in Dutch ones.
>>21778247Why are dried meat products like this not more common? Managerial regulations and bureaucratic evasion of responsibility?
>>21780450They are pretty fucking common.
>>21780450I think you can only dry conserve meat without fat, so your cuts are limited. Personally I love beef jerky, but it is just too expensive. I'd rather buy normal beef from that money.
>>21780528Dried and smoked sausage usually has a considerable fat content. Bacon has a considerable fat content. Salt it, hang it, it'll be fine until it isn't.
>>21779091Considering that there are plenty of top shelf vegan and vegetarian athletes I think you're delving a little deep into the broscience pool. You don't need to rationalize liking meat and meat doesn't need propping up, it stands on its own.
>It's like <insert food that's the same>, but we make it a little bit differently down here in Goyslopenwald ;)
>>21778838>it's basically the same as bresaola or slinzegaI often buy these, bündner, french or german too.I wouldn't say basically the same, but hey, that's like your opinion, man.
>>21779091you carnivore guys might be even more retarded than the vegan fags. at least they know they are fags
>>21779091and the other guy is laughing at you because of how absurd and stupid your beliefs are. there just really isnt much to be said
>>21778247Just looks like dried lachsschinken
>>21778247Its actually not food grade
>>21778247I live in a tropical country. Such meats will spoil here due to the high humidity and heat.
Random question, seems like a decent place to ask it - I bought a package of bockwurst off the internet last week and it arrived vacuum sealed but just in a paper envelope at room temperature which was presumably the state it was in during the 5 days it took to ship. Am I wrong in thinking these cant possibly be safe to eat or am I way off base here?
>>21782012lol
>>21781699Even better when they are neolithic fags too, surely Grug never ate any plants, only Mammoth, THATS WHY THEY INVENTED FARMING DURING THOSE TIMES!
>>21782012Obviously not.
>>21779091This person is perhaps talking about refeeding syndrome.
>>21782012Google says bockwurst is perishable and needs to be refrigerated.
