A few years ago the power went off in my town for over a week and I ate a bunch of canned chili and soup. I only had a couple cans left by the time the power came back on. All of the food in my fridge spoiled but I still had a bunch of rice I could cook.Also the only grocery store in town was closed the entire time so going to get more wasn't an option.

They kind of suck. That said, some a-hole that I work with wins the company chili cook off each year with this stuff. It's obviously rigged.

>>21780098I ate a lot of chili straight out of the can back in my nonfunctional alcoholic days. If it was cold and congealed I'd stick it in front of a space heater for a bit. One of my favorites turned out to be Stagg's vegetarian chili, they spice it differently to make up for the lack of meat and it's pretty good but practically impossible to find in person these days.

I opened a can of mushrooms and drizzled some ranch dressing in it. That was my lunch, it was probably like 80 calories and 75 of them was the 1 squirt of dressing.

Never been that bad off but I do eat a can of chili for dinner pretty often but it’s not because of desperate it’s because it’s cheap tasty and I like to fart
