You ever been so desperate you had to eat chili out of a can?

If I have a Super Bowl party or am making a ton of chili dogs, I will use Wolf chili if I am pressed for time.
>>

There is absolutely nothing wrong with canned chili if you're just looking for a quick lunch.

Not desperate, just lazy.

A few years ago the power went off in my town for over a week and I ate a bunch of canned chili and soup. I only had a couple cans left by the time the power came back on. All of the food in my fridge spoiled but I still had a bunch of rice I could cook.
Also the only grocery store in town was closed the entire time so going to get more wasn't an option.

During uni a dozen years ago my life and mind were in fucking shambles and I took a trip to Alaska despite having hardly any money and I ate a cold can of chili in the Seward grocery store parking lot.
A woman drove by and gave me a look so full of pity I still think about it sometimes

I did do something odd as hell, I emailed someone that seemed in charge at an old school I went to 20 years prior and asked what chili dog chili that they used back in the day.

I got a response and it was a canned chlii dog sauce at GFS
I just wish they sold it in smaller than #10 cans

but it's a big NO for eatin' chili
>>
>>21780098
Just lazy and I always forget how bad canned chili actually is.
Like it is hands down the worst compared to making it yourself while most canned soup or sloppa is atleast kinda ok.
>>
>>21780388
stagg chili used to be good but now it's just mostly cans of sauce with barely any meat or beans (which are required for it to be true chili)
>>

Stagg too fookin sweet

Wolf brand for quick chili dogs. Save the unused portion to reheat and use over spaghetti the next day.

>You ever been so desperate you had to eat chili out of a can?
occasionally I buy this for the pantry for "emergency" food supply reasons, and before they expire, I have to top a chili dog or baked potato with them. They kind of suck. That said, some a-hole that I work with wins the company chili cook off each year with this stuff. It's obviously rigged.

crazy timing, had one just last night
was hungry and didn't have anything in my fridge and found a can of beans with a best by date of jan 2026
haven't had one of these bad boys in years
woke up to having one of the best shits in recent memory
>>
>>21780114
I mean at least heat the stuff up jfc
>>
>>21780198
I hope you're doing better now anon

I ate a lot of chili straight out of the can back in my nonfunctional alcoholic days. If it was cold and congealed I'd stick it in front of a space heater for a bit. One of my favorites turned out to be Stagg's vegetarian chili, they spice it differently to make up for the lack of meat and it's pretty good but practically impossible to find in person these days.

My mom used to buy them for me as a quick lunch when she wasn’t home to make food. They were decent at the time. Now I would only eat them if I had to.

I opened a can of mushrooms and drizzled some ranch dressing in it. That was my lunch, it was probably like 80 calories and 75 of them was the 1 squirt of dressing.

This is true of most packaged food. Try adding salt and pepper. They package it sort of bland, and then you can season it to your desired level.
>>
Never been that bad off but I do eat a can of chili for dinner pretty often but it’s not because of desperate it’s because it’s cheap tasty and I like to fart
