/biz/ here, does this seem true to those that work in food selling?
>>

>save on restaurant bill
>by ordering appetizers
People who do that are genuine retards. Appetizers are overpriced as fuck. A bag of those breaded meat-filled olives costs about as much as one and a half portions at the local pseudo-Italian joint, and you get the equivalent of three portions out of it. A bag of steamed salted edamame costs slightly more than one portion, and you can get almost 4 portions out of it.

I am guessing that something is lost in translation...I bet that with the glp-1 people, that apps are REPLACING mains and thusreducing the bill, unless people are filling up intentionally and planning to take their mains home as leftovers.

Heh. I'm surprised they didn't call it "quiet dieting" or some shit, like they did with "quiet quitting" and "device hoarding" and all the other shitfuck capitalist terms to describe it whenever someone doesn't kneel before our corporate overlords.

ive been cramming more for sure but that might be the holidays/
>t 3rd station fry command.

I would expect the exact opposite, that in harder times people completely skip appetizers

>I would expect the exact opposite, that in harder times people completely skip appetizers
I would go even one step further to say that bread and carbs will come back next, hey, free calories, afterall.
>>
maybe I'll open food truck that only sells appetizers
>>
>>21780242
Aren't appetizers about the same price as buying a regular dinner anyway? Not like you're saving all that much.
>>
We used to have a consistent way of measuring some of these highly detailed economic patterns but ever since those patterns stopped looking good for the people in charge they cancelled it so now we have to ask restaurant owners about how many people are ordering chicken nuggets, welcome to the end of the west, it's a lot stupider and more infuriating than you expected eh?

but trump (PBUH) told me america won BIGLY and everyone will be fine

Well before we were just faking the numbers. I guess we can go back to doing that again if it makes you feel better.

>want something to eat
>all the mains start at $50 each
>not even that hungry
>the fries are "only" $16
>fuck it, fine I'll just have some of those and eat something else at home if I'm still hungry
>>
>>21780242
They are called tapas you ignorant inbred americanos
>>
>>21780289
It means buying appetizers instead of an actual meal you absolute moron
I don't even need to read this bullshit article to know what is being "noticed". And while appetizers are overpriced, they are still cheaper than entrees. Stop being so fucking stupid.
>>
>>21780289
Appetizers are almost as expensive as entrees and a smaller portion.

You might get 1 round of bread/salad whatever but if that's all your ordered the waitress probably won't replace it.
>>
>>21780404
No apps are generally cheaper unless it contains a high cost ingredient.

Splitting 2 or 3 appetizer plates is going to be a cheaper date than a full course so couples save for the same going out experience.
>>

>quiet quitting
What? What's that supposed to be?
>>
>>21781220
2020s era buzzword for slacking off at work just enough not to get fired because you’ve given up on the role/company. This was when the job market was white hot coming out of the pandemic.
>>
>>21780294
>apps are REPLACING mains
Lol lmao some places apps are on par with if not MORE than entrees
>>
>>21780289
my wife has been ordering appetizers as a meal for years, most appetizers would feed 4 people. she gets 3 or 4 meals out of one appetizer.

I've found all sorts of ways to get meals from ordering sides and salads. not because I'm cheap but just because I want something different.
>>
>>21781212
>the waitress probably won't replace it.
they absolutely will and sometimes you have stop them.
>>
>>21780242
my favorite things to order is a shrimp cocktail, a side salad, and grilled asparagus. that and the "free" bread makes a nice meal. cost less than ordering the shrimp dinner.
>>
>>21780325
>crab rangoon
>potato skins
>loaded fries
>pretzel with beer cheese
>mozz sticks
>some sort of clear broth soup
would make millions
>>
>>21781312
the last time I was a didneyland they had stalls that sold nothing but mcdonalds fries.
>>
>>21780242
Mother fucker, I've been doing this for almost 2 years now and it's about to get ruined
>>

It was working to the exact point of fulfilling your job description, but not taking on extra work beyond what you (and your employer) agreed upon for your level of compensation.

Instead of just promoting and/or giving raises to the employees to take on the workload that they actually wanted them to have, employers termed ~not going above & beyond~ as "Quiet Quitting".

It always surprised me how after learning about them, how Tapas never became a thing here in the United States. I guess we just got all the English/Irish/Italian/German immigrants and the missed out on the Spanish diaspora.
