The anti-anime schizos will be reporting in shortly to lost their shit.

The only thing I add to instant ramen is some scallions if I have them fresh on hand, I don't think lime juice would be bad necessarily, but it's not a flavor profile that I'm looking for in ramen.

i do lime and peanut butter with some sort of chili/garlic paste

no.
I get the lime chili shrimp at maruchan. good stuff
>>
>>21780939
Sometimes, but I prefer vinegar.
>>
>>21780939
I'll use ramen noodles to do up quick dirty SEAmonkey stuff, but whenever I add lime to soya and ginger, I feel it needs chili, maybe some coriander/cilantro/curry and either peanuts or coconut.
I do like lime with Japanese curry. I got weird looks for that one, but then our tour manager tried it and he got all the weird looks.

my boss yesterday had a beef ramen bowl she squeezed half a lime in
didn't ask where the other half of the lime was
>>
>apparently this isnt as common as i thought.
im latinx and i thought it was common. i mean, there are even some with nasty lime dust in them. pretty sure it is also fairly common in hong kong too because ive bought some noodles there and it had some lime juice in it with a lime set aside to add more for taste

No but I will now. I've had the shrimp with lime cups, just never thought to add to other flavors!
>>
>>21780939
No. Lime goes in pho not ramen. But you should do whatever tastes good to you.

I don't eat instant noodles very often for a weeb (it feels so unhealthy I can't focus on enjoying the meal most of the time orz), at most I'll poach an egg into them or add some sliced meat. Your tip sounds cool, though, next time I have some ramen, I'll add a dash of lime.

+1 for konatan

This is the one flavor that adding lime juice to would make sense.

What's the verdict on how shit instant ramen is for your health, by the way? Noodles you throw in the pot seem on tier with other slop, but I have a visceral reaction any time I see someone eating the stuff out of plastic cups, though nobody really seems to make a fuss about it.

There's a basic /ck/ guide for spicing up all the flavors of cup ramen to bring out their true potential, surely someone here is old enough to remember what I'm talking about, though it mostly just said "add the original ingredient that matches the flavor". Beef in beef flavor, etc.

Hell yeah. It's not a Japanese thing but it's common in Pho. Just call it FUSION CUISINE and you're a king.

I typically eat instant noodles once or twice a month as a treat. I just tried beef flavored yakisoba a few days ago and mixed a few squirts of mayo in.

I feel like the worst part about instant ramen for your health is the seasoning packets. To turn microwaved water into flavorful broth in a few minutes they need to add things to take that shortcut which you wouldn't normally add if you were making a broth the "right" way if that makes sense.
Konata is likely tasting a flavorful homemade broth of some type of soup or ramen in this picture, and she is healthy and strong.

Do like the Mexicans do and add the lime after the noodles are cooked
>>
>>21782017

Can we just discuss food?
>>
>>21782018
Yes.
I don't add lime or lemon but certain varieties of instanoods are good with tomato juice replacement about a third of the water. JML make a stewed beef variety that's great with tomato juice. Their spicy beef is, too. The mala beef not so much.

As a latino, this is completely normal. Y
They even have chili lime flavors too

instant ramen is like potato chips. you can eat a handful every now and then but if you are replacing half of your meals with potato chips it will affect your health. it's empty calorie junk food. however you can make ramen a decent meal by adding some meat or eggs to it to get your 20g of protein and some micronutrients.

just be smart about food and consider the nutritional value every now and then. try to be aware of empty calories and work to minimize them or ameliorate them with nutritive additions.

>Do you people add some lime juice to your instant ramen? apparently this isnt as common as i thought.
I do...always. To keep it "asian" it may be more logical to use rice vinegar or ponzu for the splash of acidity. I like to add the vitamin c with mine.
Other add-ins I might add includes green onions, cilantro, or a little tsp of super chili crisp. It's a rare indulgence for me, so I kick them up a notch.
>>
>>21782123
>adding some meat or eggs
you can do that with potato chips too
>>
>>21782140
yeah but chips have extremely low satiety so they should generally be avoided anyway. at least the water content of ramen triggers a feeling of fullness.
>>
>>21781854
I like the lime juice with shrimp flavor.

Those who have, do.
Those who don't, don't.
