You could even just use salt and pepper and it would still be good. All the ranch powder bullshit is straying from the right path. You also dont need to marinate for a gorillion hours or even overnight. 4 hours is more than enough. Flour should be half regular wheat half low protein flour. Corn starch and rice flower are good choices. Use the marinade to coat the chicken in batter. If you want a craggles drip a teaspoon or so of water into the flour and toss to get lil nuggets of flour that will cling to the chicken. ALWAYS double batter and ALWAYS double fry. Unless you like soggy dogshit. Wait until the batter is soaked through before frying. Dry spots on the chicken will remain dry once fried. Let the chicken rest before 2nd fry or moisture will wick into the batter late and make it soggy. That's it.
