>Utterly bland and flavorless
>Somehow considered the default flavor
Why is this?
>>
Anyone who can’t identify subtle flavours is an absolute tastelet.
>>
Tastelet
I have some beans soaking in vodka and I'm getting impatient I want to taste it
>>
>>21782846
you won't ruin anything if you taste it early
>>

Soaklet.
>>
>>21782852
Right now it's more like vanilla flavoured vodka than vanilla extract
I did take a shot of it but I wouldn't bake with it yet
>>
>>21782878
you can speed up extractions using some tricks like vacuum sealing your jar repeatedly to push the solvent through the biomass
>>
>>21782835
stop smoking 4 packs a day it's bad for you

Vanilla sugar syrup is thebsuperior extract. Takes like 30 mins to make and it far more versatile and less wasteful than alcohol extract.

You blend the entire vanilla bean into a sugar syrup.

just buy vanillin if you care about efficiency

Are you the same guy as the bay leaf schizo? Please kill yourself
>>

Browns/blacks can only detect massive amounts of sodium or mindless spices.
>>
Chocolate has always been the superior flavor.
>>

>cant read
>thinks real vanilla can be substituted with vanillin

It is not simply about efficiency. Vanilla sugar can be added to anything very simply and provide a far superior vanilla flavor.
>>
>>21782842
Vanilla isn't subtle, humans are able to detect it in trace amounts, better than many other animals. OP is just joshing us with some lake humor.

>vanilla is brown
>vanilla things are always yellow
is that because of flowers? or to differ from cocoa things
>>
>>21782835
no it's got a strong flavor and smell.
>>
>>21782835
>refuses to reproduce unless it's grown in one specific area of the world and the flowers are pollinated when they bloom during one day a year
Why hasn't this autistic incel behavior caused it to go extinct?
>>
>>21782835
it's only utterly bland and flavorless because it's expensive and most products aren't using enough. make something yourself from scratch with vanilla and if you use enough it's quite tasty.

a lot of people probably associate bland vanilla with cheap ice cream but cheap chocolate ice cream tastes like dirt too.
>>
>>21784435
My guess is because custards were often vanilla flavored, hence the yellow association.
>>
>>21782835
I present to you the vanilla gods nectar ambrosia creampia senpaitchi sauce
>>
>>21782835
For me, it's the strawberry flavor.
>>
>>21784399
vanilla sugar is sugar and vanillin, my nigga
>>
>>21786436
Maybe the low quality vanilla sugar you buy.
Vanilla sugar is made with spent vanilla pods, my nigger.
>>
>>21786436
Please follow along. Here is the recipe. I guess a vanilla paste is a better term for it.

>To get the most out of your vanilla pods. Bring to the boil 100ml of water and 100g of caster sugar and leave to cool to room temperature, take six vanilla pods, remove the hard piece at one end and chop into small pieces. Puree the syrup and vanilla pieces in a food processor until as smooth as possible. Store in the fridge for several months in a sealed container.

I've been using vanilla bean powder in some stuff and I love it. It smells heavenly. I find its taste is more pronounced than a vanilla extract liquid.
