The new era of convenience store is here.

Japanese 7-Eleven works because it's not run by an ever-rotating cast of pajeets on visa scams (although we hear that might be changing), and there aren't crackheads panhandling outside and shitting on the bathroom floors. None of your "kawaii" offerings would mean shit unless the American franchise model were gutted and rebuilt from the ground up with hygienic, respectful Japanese employees in a "high-trust" (racist) culture.
>>
>>21782877
Tokyo 7-11s are primarily staffed by pajeets, only the managers and such are jap.
>>
>>21782879
Sad. But if I know anything about Jap immigration, those pajeets are on temp work visas and will be definitely kicked out when they expire, without opportunity for citizenship or business ownership.

Any other details you could share would be interesting, gaijin-kun. We know that Japan is not a paradise, Tokyo in particular, with the yaks importing Nigerian "touts" to intimidate pedestrian tourists into their scam bars to be drugged, robbed, possibly worse.

I didn't actually see any nigerians, or they were very sneaky. Tourists were the usual mix of fat americans like me, euros, pajeets, but I never saw a ruckus. All in all, the worst place was Shibuya where there was some pool of trash that they decided was cool to throw their cans and wrappers into.
The japs I did talk with in more rural areas were very friendly and eager to have basic two-words at a time conversations, and the food was great everywhere I went.

Your posts indicate that you view Japan as a fulfillment of your sociopolitical beliefs and aren't actually Japanese.
>>
>>21782915
>aren't actually Japanese.
Of course not. If I were Japanese, I would be 漫画に自慰行為をする because 日本の女性は大きな白いアメリカ人をしたいです.
>>
Heh.

I've had actual an actual kewpie mayo egg salad sandwich. In Japan, that is. So let me tell you, when I say this I can say it with confidence; this slop US 7-eleven is trying to push is nothing but an embarrassing facsimile.

You see, the Japanese live by a concept called うま味; the idea that everything you do in life is worth doing with absolute purpose and intention. EVERYTHING.

USA doesn't live by this concept. FROM OUR KITCHEN TO YOU doesn't live by this concept. And neither of these exist in the context of a society that values this concept.

See the problem here?

Finally, thank you. Americans will never know what it's like to eat an egg sandwich prepared with ポケモンぶっかけ, roughly translated as "warrior spirit" although that doesn't capture all the cultural nuance.

Even if American 7/11 exactly matched the quality and upkeep of the Japanese 7/11, it would still be a failing chain because the prepackaged focus of Japan's convenience store scene does not match the preference for quality built to order options of the American convenience store scene as Buc-ees, Sheetz, Wawa, so on have focused on. By only providing prepackaged goods like Japan 7/11 it immediately positions itself as the bottom rung of convenience stores in stigma, and the low culture it draws in plagues the chain. Obviously better prepackaged goods will not help them with their main company issue.
They would have to restart from scratch for it to work, but also do things different compared how they do it in Japan

Should I drive to 711 or what?
>>
>>21782943
I just don't think Japanese people are that much different from everyone else.
Nobody gives a shit. Stop creating a fictional land where people give a shit.
>>
>>21783000
You don't understand Japan. The Japanese do everything to the highest standard, even making convenience store sandos. They're better than you.

$5.29 for a mayo sandwich, this is why 7-11 in the west is a failure. In Tokyo they are $2 and they sell like crazy.
>>
Bourdain would be pissed off knowing we could all try japan's shitty egg sandwich now and find out it's a bunch of bullshit.
>>
>>21783900
Yep, it's poor people food over there, they eat that slop nonstop.
>>
>>21782868
fucking wild this is 3x the price of japan. nobody gonna buy this fucking shit, and then they'll be genuinely dumbfounded and say "guess nobody actually wants japanese style 7-11 products" i fucking hate corporate niggers

>>21782868
This shit is never gonna work in the US unless they want to start opening supermarkets because you have to drive everywhere and if you can drive you can drive to a real fucking store not a convenience slop shop, their only real audience are inner city soyboys and drug addicts, also every grocery and supermarket already sells prepackaged fresh convenience foods so good fucking luck.
>>21783924
Japan average wage is 3x less than the US thoubeit

Put the 7/11 on wheels and have it go to the customer's house. Bring the convenience of Japanese konbini to the doorstep of anytown USA.
>>
>>21782872
Yeah that's wild, it's supposed to be less than $2.
