If I freeze up like 20 portions of beef stew will it thaw and microwave well?
>>21783021>20 portionsEither you're eating like a bird, or making too much.
Yes
>>21783021Prep and freeze the veggies then cook small portions.
>>21783021Yes but it's not healthy to eat so much red meat.
>>21783023You can never make too much beef stew.
>>21783037This is debunked
>>21783021Why are you such a retard?
>>21783079It's a legit question.
>>21783021>meal preppsychopathy.
>>21783266meal prep is just what zoomers call cooking
>>21783274my point stands.
>>21783021yes. stew freezes well
>>21783021The texture of some ingredients is a bit fucked after freezing/reheating (e.g. potatoes), but in a stew it's not a problem
>>21783021just keep the stew simmering over an open fire until it’s all gone
>>21783274No. Normal people cook and eat. They don't make a bunch of something and freeze it like a welfare faggot.
>>21783810Yeah OP, be like this anon. Make a bunch of food, eat it, and throw all the leftovers away. Then you wont poor anymore
>>21783021Obviously yes.
>>21783021Yes. You can meal prep anything. You can meal prep a human shit if you want. Though I wouldn’t recommend it. Or would I ? ;)
>>21783021>Can you meal prep beef stew?yes, but if there are potatoes in it and you freeze it, the potatoes will have a weird texture.

>>2178302120? Are you sure? 4 cups in a quart, and your pot is probably 3-4, or else 5 quarts. A portion of stew is 1 to be chintzy, and generous, nearly 2 cups, so freeze the exact portions you will reheat each sitting. If you'll heat it on the stove, your chunk of frozen blob easily reheats on the stove with the lid in, very quickly. Nuking frozen soup is like 5minutes per cup. If you wish to thaw it before nuking it, just move to the fridge overnight first, and it should work. Microwave does well enough though. For dinner sized portions, like my crock pot leftovers,. I use a 2qt tupperware with sloped sides and the ice block drops right into my stock pot. I use freezer containers as pictured for individual portions.
>>21783952Thank yho
>>21784100My pot is 12 quarts. I often prep 3 gallons of soup or stew at a time.
>>21783046the obvious and emotional talking points debunked, but if you want to minimize supplements one should likely rotate between various meats for efficient vitamin consumption. the beneficial vitamins from adding in turkey/chicken and fish 3-4 days a week is significant and way easier than the diversity and volume of veg/starches you'd need
>>21784117Lovely. I have used my vented pyrex now a good 15 years. Totally worth the investment. I pop those things into the microwave at work all day everyday. They hold my soups, beef stew with buttered noodles and sour cream, paprikash, 13 bean soup, meatloaf and mash, and curry w/basmati. These are my usual freeze ahead items. I think the nice lids prevent my need to stir items for cold spots too.
>>21783046>This is debunkedIndeed. People who avoid red meat are deficient. But, indeed a variety of foods overall is ideal. There are some weird trace minerals in this and that that you can strive to get into the diet naturally too. I supplement biotin and collagen compounded for "hair skin and nails" health, along with pumpkin seed oil. I also add vit D a couple of times a week, and if I make it to the doctor, I get B12 shots, or else take orally I don't eat much fresh cold water seafood, so include fish oil, and it makes my joints happier. I take a diuretic so I add potassium.Figure out what you need and lack and you'll come up with what works for you too. Granted, my diet is the opposite of routine, and I graze the world to prevent boredom. My freezer foods are never something I'd just repeatedly do over and over, gotta space out the variety. I think of meal prep as just cooking on Sunday, and putting away the leftovers in the freezer til I get lazy, but almost never more than 1 day later.
>>21784127I've never heard of vented pyrex. I store my soups in quart-sized BPA-free plastic containers. I have been thinking of getting glass storage other than my mason jars. I'll have to look into those.
While I've never done this with beef stew specifically, I made a curried pork shoulder pot roast with typical pot roast vegetables and froze it. Thawed and nuked just fine.
>>21783046it absolutely isn't
