Flan looks like it would taste so good. I remember seeing an episode of rugrats as a kid that made me want to try it so badly. Finally did and I absolutely hated it. Huge disappointment

The flans posted here suck. See those bubbles? Bad mixing. Bubbles are trapped air. Trapped eggy air. Which makes flan taste eggy (hint: that's not desirable). Proper mixing, and proper, low, slow, bain marie baking makes a delicate flan with no bubbles, no eggy taste just a rich custard.

We like to think we know flan but we're pretty bad at it, which propelled me to not be bad at it.
