Explain why you do break the pasta. There's literally no point in doing so.

except this doesn't happen unless you're retarded. fresh pasta, all goes in the pot without bending or breaking. dry pasta softens almost immediately so you can bend it fully into the water within seconds. a few seconds over a ~10 minute cooking time is not significant enough to result in uneven cooking.
