Is Turkish food the retarded stepchild of the Mediterranean? It's obviously not as famous as Italian food, Spanish food, and French food, but I'd argue it's also a step below Greek food, Moroccan food, and Algerian food. It's nothing special, and the few times I've had it I've found it way too oily and greasy.

I could really go for some pide

I don’t think I’ve seen a Turkish restaurant before
>>
med is a false post modern construction, there was not much cultural exchange and trade across religious lines. idonesia and algeria shared more. raids for sure

it's all fun and games until they actually put effort and good ingredients into your lamb kebab, which is rare, but if you get it, that shit's insane
same with proper beef/lamb tajim, shit's insane
>>
>I'd argue it's also a step below Greek food
How can it be a step below itself? With very little exception, there is nothing Greek that isn't also Turkish. It's literally all the same shit and it's all fucking disgusting.

I live two neighbourhoods over from what's basically Turkeytown. The restaurants are fucking everywhere there and my ex kept wanting to go out for Turkish food /even though she never liked it when we did/ just because it was popular and trendy at the time. When we broke up, that's when I swore off white girls.

Oh yeah? Like what?

"Med food" is just all the food in what used to be the Roman Empire, it's not an artificial construct at all.
>>
>>21791803
roman soldiers ate mushed wheat in water, not pasta and kebabs

if its done well, it's like the Rain Man o cuisine

>Turkish food
its not from central asia or mongolia, is a greek/byzantine/persians/arabian mixed with decadence of the ottomans.

Enjoy your vacation from 4channel my dude.

I was talking about real Turkish food that you would typically sit down to eat, not fast food you eat whilst stumbling drunk, retard.
>>21792259
Double retard.

>With very little exception, there is nothing Greek that isn't also Turkish. It's literally all the same shit blah blah
you seem upset anon
how about you lay back and relax with some treats:

>pastitsio baked pasta layered with spiced beef and béchamel sauce
>fava cream of yellow split-peas topped with onions capers and olive oil
>dakos barley rusks topped with chopped tomatoes, feta, and oregano
>avgolemono chicken soup thickened with an egg-lemon sauce
>chochlioi pan-fried snails, typically seasoned with rosemary and vinegar
>htapodi / octopus slow-braised in a rich red wine sauce and shallots
>pan-seared hard white cheese saganaki until golden and bubbly
>pinkish taramosalata savory dip made from cured fish roe
>crispy, herb-filled tomato fritters / tomatokeftedes

What's that? They're all Greek with no direct Turkish analog? Crazy stuff ikr

Wow. Eight dishes out of 3000. You must be proud.
>And half of those eight are stolen from Italy lmao
>>
I am an Ottoman cuisine enjoyer. Probably my 2nd or 3rd favourite cuisine

Yes. But that's still pretty good compared to the rest of the World.

I'm Swedish and I'll rather have what the Turks have than what we have.

The addition of pork is just that much of a game changer
