How do you deal with the "Holiday Food Critics"? For those who have to cook for family, friends, customers this season?
>>
I dont' understand.
>>
>>21795965
If you're a shit cook, you're going to get criticized. Learn from it. Also, not everyone likes the same thing and that's fine.

I'm an actual chef so they're always super grateful to have me cook. Not that I'd stand by and watch them bungle everything.
If anyone criticizes my cooking I know there's something wrong with them. Hasn't happened yet.
>>
You must have a horrible family if someone actually comes over to your house and insults your food.
>>
>>21796022
OP could just be sensitive. Maybe he's interpreting his nephew's unwillingness to eat his food as some kind of personal insult or some shit. Either that or he just wanted to make a stealth anthony bourdain hate thread
>>
>>21795965
Rarely had the opportunity to cook for others but I guess just don't let it bother you? Only you can ultimately choose to allow something to upset you. Just don't let it, and that's that. It's really that simple.
>>
>>21795970
Last time I criticized my uncle for pressing down on the burgers on the grill
>>
If you cooked your holiday meal properly with quality products then this wouldn't be a fucking problem OP. Ever thought of that?
>>
>>21795965
they're all women and they all take a bite and go, "mmmmm, this is so good."
so i don't know your plight, op.
>>
>>21796064
Have you innovated the holiday cuisine at all? made a new sauce etc.. shut the fuck up. I at least trued and made quinky sauce
>>
>>21795965
>Have the cream sauce
>>
>>21795970
This. Just say "no habla" and ignore them.
>>
>>21795965
You guys get invited to family functions?
>>
>>21795965
It doesn't bother me one bit. This time of year is about family, friends and the celebration of The Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
>>
>>21795965
Just ignore them. It's not worth it.
>>
>>21796064
You've never tried that have you? Normalfags don't want that kind of food, they want their slop from a package.
>>
>>21796322
You have family?

you /ck/ gals are still talking about epstein?
>>
>>21796535
hmmm, I dunno, Bourdain was in some shady child fucking brothels many times all around asia, that specific type of face could be a nature's warning, like red frogs being poisonous and that type of stuff
>>
>>21796590
that's the point
epstein had bourdain killed so he wouldn't blab his annoying mouth
birds of a feather
>>
>>21796036
Eh, Im all for shitting on that loser though it is on 4chan. People on this site are autistic enough to sperg out over some kid eating their cooking
>>
>>21796726
Its not even "sperging out" its a matter of pride and respect, you fucking clown.
>>
>>21796322

>>
>>21795965
Is that Jeffrey Epstein?
>>
>>21795965
1. Don't cook bad
2. They can cope and seethe, they didn't cook. They can just not eat it. God knows I've done that a handful of Thanksgivings ect.
>>
>>21795965
Call them up in mid November the next year and announce, not ask, that you're going to their place for Christmas this year so they can cook for you.
>>
>>21796994
Hahaha ah!!! Jeffrey Epstein!!!! It's funny because Anthony Bourdain the chef and travel writer looks a little bit like Jeffrey Epstein the notorious pedophile!!! It's funny being they look alike but are in fact totally different!! Hahahahhahahhahaa!!!!!!
>>
>>21796535
Why wouldn't I want a cup that makes people go into full pretending mode?
>>
>>21796716
>Bourdain was killed to cover up the antipedo documentary that was about to be released
>noone else involved was killed
>Bourdains segments were included in the documentary anyway
>the documentary was roundly ignored and absolutely noone gave a shit
Maybe, just maybe, the guy who talked about killing himself over 200 times, specifically by hanging himself in a hotel bathroom, killed himself after paying off his whores abuse victim and her dumping him anyway.
>>
>>21795965
Rest in piss
>>
>>21796994
yes it is
>>
>>21795965
I get drunk and belligerent beforehand so by the time dinner is served everyone is already tired of fighting and no one wants to say anything.

>Holiday Food Critics
How is it that you wish to handle it? Zero reply, catty, funny, instantly defensive, hurt and humiliated? Just google "witty" or "rude" in front of the word comebacks and get one ready for Aunt Karen or your particular flavor of family. If it's a mother-in-law...good luck. My ex-MIL was pretty devious and underhanded. Usually it was something about my stellar family said in jealousy, like "all Pilots are drunks" and nonsense that just pushes buttons of defensiveness but needed no reply if I shut my mouth. Culinarily speaking, she was the weirdo with food allergies and stupid food rules.

Here ya go.
>>
>>21795965
people saying you just need to cook better have never dealt with these kinds of people. I have an aunt who won't touch food with coarse salt on it. she only likes the "normal salt". she eats nothing but processed microwave meals. some people are just outside any conventional taste and can't be reasoned with.

thankfully, she's the only one in my family and everybody else loves my food. I've learned to just tune her out. if she doesn't like what I cook, she can go microwave some frozen mac and cheese or whatever. I don't care.

So many people need to educate themselves.
>>
>>21798471
Somebody should invert those two haha
>>
>>21796716
>>21797181
why would anybody care about what Bourdain had to say about Epstein or 'the elites'? Did Bourdain really have that much influence / evidence that would incriminate Epstein and his child diddling gang?
>>
>>21795965
>If you don't like it then don't eat it.
>>
>>21795965
I never realized Epstein was a chef too
>>
>>21795965
Thankfully I'm my own worst critic

I told off my mom because everything my sister makes is so perfect and wonderful and she won't even taste the things I make

>>

Nothing is worse than the salt addicts complaining about not enough seasoning. All the food already has enough salt, if you add more you have already over salted your meal.
>>
>>21795978
>and that's fine.

God I despise you spinless "people".
>>
>>21795965
Here's the quick guide to what is retard criticism and what is legit "you should improve" criticism.

Not Legit:
>Anything to do with MSG
>Anything to do with seasoning being too much when it was properly applied - let these types add S&P at the table.
>Picky Eater issues
>People who prefer different doneness levels - they are wrong, but just cater to their dumb asses - it's easier

Legit:
>you swapped salt with sugar or vice versa
>you didn't season at all
>you failed to cook meat to the right temp
>the food is under/over done
>You used weird shit in the recipe
>You can't clean for shit
>technique is shit

If you made dry ham or turkey, that is on you. You overcooked it or used improper technique. If shit is bland, learn how to season food - get a spice rack or something. If you burned shit - get over yourself and DON'T burn the food next time.

Now, if you are cooking for white Karens/boomers who are sensitive to ANY amount of seasoning, you make a spiced version and an unspiced version for the Karens. That's just the easy way to solve that problem. I know it sucks to dirty two dishes, but it will shut them up.

For picky eaters and kids - kids need to eat adult food. Good adult food won't offend kids unless you slap that bitch with Death Chip Ass Blaster 9000 hot sauce, so don't do that if you are doing it. Always have low scoville versions for the kiddies and women.

For weak ass people with allergies: they should be cooking for themselves really. Just be truthful on what is in what and they can fend for themselves.
>>
>>21795965
You thank these people for volunteering to cook for everyone next year.
>>
>>21795965
Nobody complains because I'm the best cook and everyone knows it. We used to have better Christmas dinners but the old best cook died.

I think I'm improving every year though.
