In the US, most franchises are open. With family/mom n' pop places it's a dice roll. In the past ten years I've noticed even most Chinese restaurants close on Christmas now.

Not everyone celebrates even the secular version of Christmas and of those who do celebrate the holiday, not all of them have family or anyone else to be with.
