And don't give me the "I make healthy food that tastes good" excuse. You know that's not what I'm asking. Do you make compromises in taste for the sake of health. Cutting down on butter and sugar, that sort of thing.

I order regular burgers instead of doubles now. Keeps the old lady off my case.
>>
>>21802668
No. I try to avoid unnecessary calories like liquid ones or sweets or overly fatty foods so i don't get fat but otherwise i eat what i want. I prefer a short joyful life over a joyless long one.

Enjoy your cancer journey and IV-drip at the age of 70.
>>

Enjoy living in constant fear.

>age 70
Lmao why would anyone want to be that old?
>>
>>21802668
No, not at all.
I'm not some immoral hedonist, I try to do things in moderation, but I'm going to enjoy my life. You can do everything "right" health wise and still die of cancer at 50 or in a car crash next week.
I'm also doubtful that cutting down on butter or sugar (and related "healthful" things) has any actual effect, assuming that you aren't consuming an excess of whatever it is.

Once a month I master both. I make my big pot of "garbage soup" which is just a big vegetable soup full of wonderful and disgusting things including cabbage, spinach, and kale, and a dozen other things, and frankly in the end it's delicious. Kale soup is gross, but garbage soup featuring kale is delicious.

Yes, it's probably salty, but it's both delicious and full of everything you need.

>and don't answer my question in the only way that doesnt suggest that 'nobody enjoys eating healthy'
you are fat as fuck. healthy food tastes more subtle, but not bland. there is no compromise. you are either able to think 30 minutes into the future or you are retarded and there is no inbetween.
>>
I compromise. I’ll swap out a tastier choice for a last tasty but healthy on, but I won’t descend in to madness of eating unpleasant things (fuck off kale). On of the better things you can do for you health is to do things you enjoy, and that includes eating food that tastes good.
>>
not really. I don't eat very much junk or processed shit, but I don't bend over backwards to avoid butter and stuff in my cooking either. I could always be healthier, sure, but I think as long as your diet is mostly homecooked whole foods, you're doing better than most even if it's a little rich.

I avoid processed junk foods nowadays sadly. I don’t avoid fat and sugar though. Those aren’t inherently unhealthy, as long as you’re balancing well enough with fiber and protein you shouldn’t need to avoid them. If you’re overeating you just need to avoid that behavior
>>

If he knows he's got good genetics then he can eat like shit within reason and still probably live longer than you, cheating the system. Life's not fair sometimes.
>>
>>21802668
No. You can have both.
>>
I mostly avoid sugary drinks (I'll have my 5-10 sodas a year) and stick to water and then coffee on the morning on occasion. I also don't eat stupidly unhealthy foods anymore like the burgers with the bukkake cheese all over them or I'll get the grilled chicken sandwich instead of fries of that's what you mean. But at home? There's no reason you can't have both. I've learned to stop taking healthy dishes "as-is" and have removed and added stuff to make it palatable. Like I hate iceberg lettuce but I love kale and spinach, so that's my salads. I add chopped red onions to practically every salad cuz I like the crunch and the bite, I usually add a can of whatever beans I have, shredded cheese, I hate vinaigrettes but love creamy mayo based dressings, so I make my own with fat free Greek yogurt and a tablespoon of mayo (and then spices, honey, whatever herbs, and whatever else). These choices help me stick to eating salads rather than a burger for lunch or even eating out. I use the salad kits and adjust them to my liking. Take away or replace the healthy things you don't like, and add more of the healthy stuff you do. And then moderation for everything unhealthy. That's it, that's how to eat healthy.
>>
I like Kale/Spinach/Silverbeet in soup. I like to sauté the vegetables in bacon fat. I get that some people don't like certain vegetables. I guess just make a soup that masks the flavour if you want to use them. I don't eat any fruit so I try to eat more vegetables to compensate. apart from that I try to limit sugar water. if I eat chocolate or sweets I tend to just buy more expensive shit I will enjoy. instead of eating a whole block of cheap shit

no because eating is healthy and not eating is not healthy.

Butter is healthy. Fatty meat is delicious and healthy.

My tastes are beneficial to health.
If you were raised with a salad on the table you're probably gonna think a salad is part of any meal, if you were raised by a mom who boo-hooed salad and talked about how lettuce just blocks the tasty stuff but you gotta eat it cause the doctor said so, then you're gonna eat meat sandwiches and bacon and eggs until your doctor says you're heart is about to exlode and you have gout and you need a salad.

I try to hit all my macros, vitamins and minerals. Most of what I eat isn't enjoyable, it's just me getting my protein and loading up on vitamins. Because I get all I need from my diet I also eat some slop because it's good for your mental health. I'll eat chicken with greens and wash it down with an energy drink.
Eating stuff you like is beneficial for your health if you moderate yourself. If you overeat too much junk, you'll just fry your dopamine receptors, feel like shit and crash out. This is why I buy junk in bulk and I ration it. I'll have junk lined up for 10+ days. One day I'll eat a bag of chips, next day I'll drink an energy drink, next day I'll eat cookies. You rotate your junk food like drugs and not overdo a specific food.
>>
My normal food is good. If I want candy, I need to go buy it separately, and I only get one type. Usually I can't be arsed to do that, so I'm fine. It's literally that easy to avoid junk.

This new-age bullshit is hilarious. I never heard or read those words anywhere before ten years ago. I wonder what you think it all means.

>Enjoy your cancer journey and IV-drip at the age of 70.

Old fart in his 60s here. About a 1/3 of my friends are gone, but it was mostly either automobile / motorcycle wrecks or smoking and drinking that killed them. Had a few die from meth way too young, but meth is a one way ticket to the grave. Had one or two others die of cancer, but they either had a family history of cancer or really bad luck. Stress kills more than what you eat. Look at the French and Italians, they eat all kinds of cheese and smoked meats and live long lives. The only thing that will kill you is eating raw meat and seafood. Sooner or later you will get a parasite that will trash your liver or end up in your brain.

Never have never will.
Ill just naturally crave healthy stuff sometimes and crave unhealthy stuff other times. But ill never deprive myself of something i want. My thing is i just dont eat large portions of stuff really.

You should try this overly salty and cooked to death kale version.
>>
>>21802668
I usually combine some high-volume healthslop like steamed or lightly fried vegetables with something tasty. Or just eat whatever I want sometimes.

Fun fact you can make box mac and cheese without the butter or milk, just keep some of the pasta water to mix the cheese packet with. Saves on calories by a ton

I've had kale lots of ways. It's pretty decent if you have the time to cook it thoroughly, the shit ain't like spinach where it wilts immediately. I usually don't have the patience, but with soup I can toss it in early and then an hour later the kale is thoroughly softened
