>>21803255Do you mean "how do I make a hamburger that doesn't suck" or, like, toppings?Burgers are very simple and only really come in two types: smash and regular. Form patties with as little handling as possible. For regular patties make them slightly bigger than your buns to account for shrinkage, put a dimple in the middle so they stay flat, and season just before cooking at a medium-high temp. Flip halfway through. For smash burgers you need a scary hot oiled skillet, smasher, and a scraper. You put a ball of meat in the pan, smash it flat, season the top after about a minute and scrape and flip for another 30 seconds or so.
>>21803277toppings and ingredients, but any burger discussion is welcome.
>>21803297I'm partial to a nice fried egg, with the yolk still able to break and ooze down the burger like a rich butter. Maybe some bacon or anything salty or smokey with it.

Personally, I prefer a cheeseburger with just a little mustard and ketchup and a pickle on the side. The meat and bread should be the star of the show.

Grind your own meat right before you make the burgers, bake your own buns. Chuck is classic. I usually use brisket because it's cheap.
