Why are German and Slavic sausages never used on pizza?

Imagine a bratwurst or kielbasa pizza. Weisswurst, even. Blood sausage. Mmmm. The spices and flavors would all work together, don’t try to tell me they wouldn’t.

It's Italian food.
>>
>>21812618
So? Food isn't some rigid draconian thing
>>
>>21812619
You asked a question. That's the answer. You can put whatever you want on pizza.
>>
>>21812623
"It's Italian food" explains nothing. You could have said "bread has carbs" and it would mean about as much.

As they say in school: show your work.

Mexican and Argentine pizzas can be really amazing, but I think it's the use of great local cheeses. Argentineans have a lot of Italian ancestry, so they know good crusts, and they're fine using chorizo, but their best pizza is simply cheeses, olive oil and oregano, and oodles of finely shaved onions, the fugaza, or if double decker and stuffed with more cheese and onions, the "Fugazetta"
>>
>>21812632
Are you a bot? What does this have to do with anything?
>>
>>21812626
You're fucking retarded.
>>
>>21812606
German sausages aren't that flavourful and best eaten on its own. Also it's disgusting drenching them in overly greasy cheese.
>>
>>21812647
>German sausages aren't that flavourful
I find that hard to believe.
>>
>>21812606
Kielbasa on pizza goes hard but it doesnt get crispy and needs to have very little fat
Thats why kabanosy are on all meat lovers pizzas
They are dry enough to not make pizza soggy have meaty and concentrated flavour
If you use kielbasa cut it thin and maybe render some fat on dry pan
>>
>>21812660
He's right though. They only use mild spices or herbs. The other parts of the pizza will overpower it.
A bradwurst pizza is just a worse meatballs pizza and weisswurst/bloodwurst hardly have any flavor at all. Maybe keilbasa would work but the result would only be mid.
>>
>>21812606
no dont put that barberic shit on a pizza, you put italian sausages on pizza.
>>
>>21812670
>The other parts of the pizza will overpower it.
This is just silly. Crust, sauce, cheese will overpower a bratwurst?
>>
>>21812688
yes
>>
>>21812660
Those you will have in mind aren't strongly flavoured. You could use something smoked and cured like Ahle, Stracke or Braunschweiger but that's not really what people mean with German sausages.
>>
>>21812606
>German
Flammkuchen is sour cream sauced, and may be topped with french ingredients, like gruyere, or else onions and lardons. Notice the germans don't put german sausage on their german pizzas.
>Slavic sausages never used on pizza?
Garlic topped bread, sour cream cheese, topped bread. Notice they don't put local sausage on their Langos or their Pogash. They do like mushrooms and lots of white cheeses.

I disagree that these are sausages without flavor. Flavor and innovation means they just don't stand out for texture and flavors both.
>>
>>21812606
I've done kielbasa pizza using smoked kielbasa, and it worked very well. It's not that different from your average American "smoked sausage" which we also need more of on pizza.
>>
>>21812619
>Food isn't some rigid draconian thing
how to be wrong in 6 words or less.
>>
>>21812801
The proof is self-evident. The number of people in the world that steadfastly adhere to specific unchanging recipes for everything is dwarfed by the number of people with sense.
>>
>>21812606
The extreme flavor of real sausages would overshadow the humble pizza, i guess
>>
>>21812606
It's not done for a reason, because it sucks.
>>
>>21812835
No it doesn't.
>>
>>21812606
having tried a lot of different sausages from around the world a lot of them taste pretty damn the same so no reason to have such a large selection for no benefit.
>>
>>21812660
no anon is right. I've tried several german sausages and some were beyond bland.
>>
>>21813565
It depends on what that guy at for dinner that night. Different foods make ejaculation taste different.
>>
>>21812606
Kielbasa pizza isn't even popular in Poland, outside of novelty 'country' pizzas.

We have a saying - "If there's a mystery, the mystery is in the money." The sausage slices are either more costly than pepperoni, harder to source, or go bad faster.
>>
>>21812619
Tell that to the Italians
>>
>>21813706
>"If there's a mystery, the mystery is in the money."
Alright I admit I’m dumb, what does that saying mean?
>>
>>21812618
almost every pizzeria in italy serves some version of wurstel (hotdog) on pizza. half the time its called pizza americana and has fries on it too.
>>
>>21814091
cant sell enough german sausage pizza to make it a worthwhile thing you find regularly
>>
>>21812606
I once cut up a Johnsonville brat and put it on a pizza and it was fucking delicious.
>>
>>21812606
Weisswurst and mustard pizza sounds interesting. Tomato base and raw onion aplenty, cold radish and onion applied after cooking. Pretzel crust. Mustard swirled on top of cheese in a thin line.
>>
So we all have a smoked meat dungeon in our family right? With a huge barrel of good wine

weisswurst has no flavor whatsoever, it's just white foam in a condom.

here in Orbánistan we do put kolbász on pizza, and it's pretty good. although it's quite fatty and does soak the whole pizza in reddish grease, put that's kinda the point.
>>
>>21814531
My problem with these types of pizzas is that one slice is great but I never feel like eating another, let alone most of a pie, like I do with normal pizzas.
>>
>>21814588
1) Okay I'd make a pretzel dough.
2) Tomato-sauerkraut sauce enhanced with bacon.
3) Thin but not too thin layer of Mascarpone on the dough (for mildness)
4) Spread beer cheese in a ring up against the edge of the dough
5) do the rest of the pizza with the tomatokraut sauce.
6) Layer sliced, peeled Weisswurst
7) Do a spiral of Bavarian sweet mustard
8) Salt and butter crust
9) Cook
10) Add raw onion very thinly sliced crescents, almost piled.
11) place thin sliced radish like pepperoni not on top of sausage

Would be good I think.
>>
>>21814601
>4) *crust
That is, the beer cheese is just up against the crust, so it's something you get a bite of when you eat the crust.

We used to be more adventurous.
>>

Questions, mysteries, and missing pieces like "Why are things like this?" "Why won't they do that?" and "What's the problem?" are usually money related.
>>
>>21812606
Most German sausages have a thick, sometimes chewy skin which you don't want on a pizza. Also a lot of sausages have chunky meat which doesn't allow them to be cut thinly enough to put on a pizza.
>>
>>21814762
Figures that it’s knockwurst though. That stuff is closest to hot dog taste so it’s good for clueless americans
>>
>>21814570
>weisswurst has no flavor whatsoever
I don't get why people here always suggest weißwurst. At least use a more flavourfull bratwurst types like Nürnberger or Thüringer.
In general something smoked and cured would be better.
>>
>>21814127
why would Americans move to Italy to make something so disrespectful to Italian culture?
>>
>>21814857
This is inane. Italian sausage also has a skin and pizza sausage specifically has it removed.
>>
>>21814965
Europeans are retarded and know next to nothing about America let alone their own countries or the world at large.
Europeans are extremely low information and miraculously, even the average American is more informed on current events than most Europeans.
"Educated" Europeans literally receive what is just regurgitated copy from the BBC as most countries have not particular foreign desk.

So when Euro's call something "American" they mean: something that Americans would never eat because it's fucking gross, but trash Italians would but it's embarrassing so they call it "American" since that's the other place they know next to nothing about.
>>
>>21812606
I don't think they would work will with the standard tomato and herb pizza sauce.
>>
>>21815070
Cope harder.
>>
>>21815081
It's empirically validated that Europeans are low-information even compared to the average American.

That looks delicious, I crave sausage often times.
I want sausage right now, more than one. I hunger.
