This is the extent of my cooking ability. My magnum opus. Am I a chef yet?

Looks like food that could keep you alive and in reasonable health for quite some time. And that's either good or bad depending on your view of life in the idiocracy dystopia we're living in.

>onions, bean, corn, rice

looks fine but go buy a real bowl from Walmart for 5 dollars

also if you can cook that you can cook plenty of other things by applying the same principles
>>
That's okay. Just make and eat what you need, then gradually expand your horizons. Or don't, whatever you decide.

5 fucking dollars? on a bowl? that’s my monthly rice bill
>>
>>21816946
I’ve made this exact thing before. Probably gonna make it tonight because you reminded me and I’m hungover
>>
I can forgive the plastic plate, but why would you have a plastic plate and heap everything on it, covering the rice

work on your presentation
>>

Why do people choose to live like this. Life is too short to eat slave slop.
>>

>>

Damn I altered this niggas timeline. Imagine you get in a car crash tomorrow because you made this which caused you to go to sleep 5 minutes later than you usually would which made you wake up 10 minutes later than you would which makes you leave for work 20 minutes later which leads to your demise.

I know this is a food & cooking forum but eating is not supposed to be this fun euphoric activity every single time. It’s for survival first and foremost. Plus I’ve had such a bad day that I can’t be bothered to whip up a king’s feast

Corn kernels are a food-ruiner. Try again

not really since humanity was living in caves tens of thousands of years ago and food was still scarce. since the dawn of civilization, eating has been for the most part a social and recreational activity. you're right, you don't need to be cooking a king's feast every single day; but there is a middle ground between that and pure subsistence eating.
for the record, I don't think what you posted in the OP is *that* bad. it could be better, but it could be worse too. I just think your attitude is limiting yourself arbitrarily. you clearly showcase some cooking ability. you can cook rice, you can saute onions, it looks like you can season your food. those basic techniques can take you pretty far. so to call this the "extent" of your ability is just wrong and self-limiting. and if you break out of this attitude of food-as-fuel which really is pretty fucking outdated, you could do a lot better for yourself. the thing is, like it or not, eating is going to take up a significant portion of your life. you have to eat every single day, multiple times a day. may as well enjoy it too. if not, what are you even doing here?
