Growing up, my half-Italian cousins and their family used to order pizza and store the leftovers in pizza box in the turned off oven for a couple days and grab a piece as needed. We'd order it Friday for a sleepover and reheat it Sunday for lunch and we'd never get sick.

Cool blog. Very interesting. But unfortunately I'm unsubscribing and I'm just going to go over there - - ->>>

My family and I have always left leftover pizza out on the counter overnight. Never had any issues eating it the next day. Maybe people in warmer climates have issues, but not here in Canada.
>>
what kind of pizza is an important question here. a meatlovers would probably be more risky, that basil za that italians eat less so

Pizza is filled with so many preservatives, nitrates and salts it basically never goes bad. Pizzas were left out regularly during college no one ever got sick.

that can be chalked up to people in the prime of their lives having extremely strong immune systems

Ok but why take the risk? Do you not have a fridge? Or are you stingy about the 1c of electricity required to reheat it?
Yes, you can leave food out and likely nothing will happen, but you can also get violently sick off it. The risk is not that high, but the reward is nonexistent, so why take the risk in the first place?

you think italians are good at risk reward analysis

Room-temp pizza tastes better than fridge-cold pizza. That's the biggest reason.
>>
>>21825161
and heated pizza tastes better than either so..just reheat it? or you're too lazy to throw it in the air fryer or microwave for a single minute?
>>

I am often in the mood for cold pizza the morning after. Fridge pizza is too cold, and I don't have the time to take it out beforehand and let it come up to temp. Reheated pizza is an entirely different experience that I also enjoy.

Speaking of reheated pizza, the pizza reheating hierarchy goes:
>skillet
>air fryer
>oven
>microwave
>steamed
