UKfag here, do I need to bleach and/or wash my chicken in dish soap to get the authentic flavour out of this?
>>
>>21824617
its the Colonel Sanders way.
>>
>>21824617
black cooking is disgusting. i honestly think their genetics lead to weaker tastebuds. they have to COVER their shit in salty seasonings to taste anything
>>
>>21824617
you need sunny d.
>>
>>21824628
due to their seemingly natural state of being impoverished they didn't have access to quality ingredients, seasonings were used to cover up unpleasant tastes or odours, it becomes a sort of tradition and then the poor niglets born into that existence just build up a tolerance because everything they eat is smothered in ounces and ounces of multi purpose seasoning mix
>>
>>21824685
Every poor person ever
>>
You don't wash chicken; you just rinse it ffs.
>>
>>21824685
If you don't put salt or seasoning on your chicken I guarantee that it tastes like bland shit. Chicken isn't a steak. It's rather bland meat on its own.
>>
>>21824617
why would u season salt???

Just rinse it, if you want to be like the caribbeans you can rub the meat with lime or bitter orange. Also Lawry's has too much salt to spice imo, get some slap ya mama or old bay instead. Saxon or adobo is also good, I use picrel to make yellow rice
>t. black
>>
>>21824730
lol triggered groid. at what point did I say you can't season chicken? salt, pepper, herbs and butter is plenty you don't need to bury it in a desert of dime store seasoning mix to taste it Jamal.
>>
>>21824754
You were implying seasonings are bad for meat. Nice backpedal, Nigel. Season your bland chicken everyone hates it.
>>
>>21824747
You're talking to Brits, anon. They're deathly scared of seasoning. You'd be better off recommending a gravy to dump onto their chicken because that's how they actually season it over there. I bet sausage gravy would help the UK out immensely in general.
>>
>>21824685
>didn't have access to quality ingredients
they have enough food stamps to be eating steak every night. they CHOOSE to eat slop.
>>
>>21824747
why are you gay?
>>
>>21824617
Only Americans wash their chicken and use Lowrys.

They need to wash away the chlorine and give their chicken some flavour . . .. . it's so bland, watery and tasteless.

Americans get triggered when you remind them of this.
>>
>>21824791
>Only Americans wash their chicken and use Lowrys
it's exclusively a black thing.
>>
>>21824783
I'm not. Why are you gay?
>>
>>21824792
No it isn't I saw it at my buddy's house and he's white. It's just a shittier version of Cajun seasoning.
>>

you are gay.

you don't have any buddies, pal.
>>

Nuh uh. You are gay however.
>>
>>21824617
I don't use it on chicken but it's bretty gud on french fries.
>>
i'm all about mccormick grill-mates. i've got like 10 different varations
>>
I know you guys hate black people but I like their fried fish. There's this one fish fry place I go to, I visit that place demi regularly. Their boiled peanuts are good too. There is also this old black guy who sells big portions of barbeque chicken for $5, but only on Fridays and Saturdays. Cheap and good food after a long day.
>>
>>21824779
I was talking historically, I know these days it's just a cultural thing for them to drown their slop in egregious amounts of seasoning powder
>>
>>21824617
>UKfag
Shouldn't that be curry powder then?
>>
>>21824892
>Shouldn't that be curry powder then?
Hurr Durr . . . .I bet that sounded funny when you typed it but the Brits did invent it, long before America existed.

Is it true that outside of London the rest of the UK is as poor as Mississippi? Would explain a lot kekekekek

Your boiled chicken sucks. No one likes it. Your children eat it because that is what they have and there are no other options. Please do better, Nigel.
>>
>>21825111
We don't call it boiled anymore, the appropriate term is poached.
>>
>>21824890
historically they ate bugs and grubs because they never progressed past hunter/gatherer stages of history.
>>
>>21824685
>they didn't have access to quality ingredients, seasonings were used to cover up unpleasant tastes or odours
Europeans used to slather meat in lots of spices back when spices were wildly expensive, way more than fresh meat.
All the stuff about the taste of meat and natural ingredients is a 17th century french invention. Has nothing to do with poverty.
>>
>>21825216
Medieval European cooking wasn't based around spices it was based around a widely held medical opinion that if you didn't match your cooking techniques to balance the humors of the ingredients it might kill you. Very little actual attention was paid to taste.

>Very little actual attention was paid to taste.
You're saying here that people in the past had no sense of taste, a physical, biological sense that we are all born with.
Obviously, people in the past had taste and enjoyed good food.
Medieval dietology based on humours was way more complicated than "balance humors or die", and different spices had different characteristics to them.
And no, medieval european cooking was incredibly rich in spices, especially the royal, opulent banquets. See for e.g. pike a la polonaise, a recipe dating back to the 15th century that contains elements typical to this style of cooking: nutmeg, saffron, ginger, pepper, all used in abundance, the taste of the actual fish just an accent.
>>21825234
Yes, the focus on the taste of meat as the primary element of the dish - low spices, natural tastes, etc. A culinary movement that began in France around the enlightenment as a move away from the decadence of royalty.
>>
>>21825238
Where does it say that how a food tastes was ignored?
>>
>>21825216
Just look at this American cope?

is this for real?

That's 90% percent of this entire website. What a shame, as much as washing meat is ridiculed here using vinegar, or lime is actually a great way to tenderize meat.

I've got more pals than you do buddies, fwend.

I have Lawrys in my cupboard too, but it's not for chicken. It's almost exclusively for the rare occasion I have Macaroni and Cheese, because my mom put it on Mac&Cheese when I was a kid, it's nostalgic.

This guy is also right though:
>>21824815
It is pretty good on fries.

i never understood onion and garlic powder. does it make sense to use them for the flavor profile enhancement, or is it a copout for not mincing the actual ingredients and putting them in the dish naturally?
>>
>>21826462
Black people use garlic/onion powder along with actual garlic and onions. It's not a bad idea if you don't use the cheap walmart seasoning

Wal-Mart used to keep free boxes of it out on an endcap all the time. Haven't seen it in a while tho

Will try

I've never had black cooking in my life. What's the difference between it and white southern food?
>>
>>21824762
Salt is the only seasoning you need. Your chicken probably has terrible texture and taste that you need to cover up with spices.
>>
>>21828462
not much everyone here is poor and black rural people behave the exact same way as the rural whites.
>>21826462
they are good at adding body to spice blends for blackening or what not
>>
who do you think taught them to cook?
>>
I’m going to let all of you anons in here in on a little secret. Did you know that when niggers talk about “seasoning” they are exclusively referring to “Lawry’s Seasoned Salt?”

I’m not joking, it’s an honest to God fact. Next time you get on the subject of cooking while chatting with a nigger ask him what his favorite seasonings are to use while cooking. He’ll stare at you mouth agape before mumbling out some incoherent nigger speak like

>“mufuggah ion no not mufuggin gorton ramsay nigga nah mean I’m just usin seasoning nigga”

Niggers really have no concept of seasoning, they honestly think all flavor is derived from lawry’s seasoning salt. One time I was invited to my nigger neighbor’s 4th of July bbq. I could hardly contain my excitement because I was finally about to be enlightened by the fabled nigger BBQ, or so I thought. Imagine my disappointment when I arrived and was greeted with the following

>chicken rubbed with lawry’s seasoned salt
>ribs with dry rub of lawry’s seasoned salt
>mashed potatoes loaded with lawry’s seasoned salt
>salad garnished with lawry’s seasoned salt
>asparagus coated in so much lawry’s seasoned salt that it was entirely crystallized by the time it was done grilling
>every table had a bottle of lawry’s seasoned salt on it “to add some extra seasoning”

It was absolutely unreal. Do you know how many times I was asked to “pass the seasoning” that night? It can’t be counted on both hands. Describing the situation as Lynchian is too kind.

If you ever find yourself dating a nigger and want to impress her grill up some chicken and rub it with enough lawry’s seasoned salt to cure an entire calf. You will be amazed at her eyes light up as she takes her first bite and she showers you with compliments for “cookin’ with soul”
>>
>>21828479
>black rural people behave the exact same way as the rural whites.
The statistics beg to differ. Maybe the food and the accents are the same though.
>>
>>21824617
Yep, that brand has its own chicken soap that you would ideally use.
>>
>>21828490
Most black crime is committed in cities, black people in rural areas don't have the same crime rate
>>
I'm tempted now to use Tony's or Lawry's in lieu of salt to "dry brine" some chicken or beef. I don't normally eat much onion-powder-flavored otherwise. Tony's occasionally to punch things up or correct seasoning. How bad an idea is that? What am I in for?
>>
>>21829404
Tony's is better, both are pretty salty but Tony's has more spice in it
>>
>>21828490
you're not very good at reading statistics
>>
>>21828479
>black rural people behave the exact same way as the rural whites.

Lol no, poverty is one of the lesser factors in criminal behavior
>>
>>21828492
Heh.
>>
>seasoned salt
That's like saying sweetened sugar, what the hell
>>
>>21824747
God old bay on chicken is so good. Rub that bitch in olive oil and season it well and you're living life.
