>>21833263I mean, yeah? Everyone thats not completely retarded knows that most of those deli cold meats your average supermarket sells are pure dogshit, filled with dozens of chemicals? Hell, that shit isnt even real "ham", you can see it in the fucking texture, its a meat paste shaped in the form of ham.Good ham is way more expensive, but the best part is, it not hard to make a very high quality and tasty ham yourself, if you arent a fucking retard
>>21833263Uh-oh. Chicken little found another food item to be irrationally scared of.

>>21833263Everyone knows Nitrates are bad for you. People know alcohol and smoking are unhealthy as well yet people still drink and smoke. You’re not going to change anyone’s minds on their eating habits by telling them it causes cancer

>>21833451The irony here is that you're an enormous fucking retard and don't know just how much nitrate the Ashkenazim consume. Half their diet is cured meat.
>>21833455The facts here are that the WHO is a jewish organization and jewish people have been caught lying about what is and is not healthy in the past, so we have no reason to trust anything they say.

I ate an entire pepperoni over 24 hours and it was so good but I feel like I must have bumped my cancer probability by a whole point

>>21834367The bit is much, much older than that. Do you not know Abbott and Costello's Who's on First skit? It's as funny today as it was nearly a hundred years ago. There was a redo of it on Animaniacs in the 90s that was also hilarious. It's always good.
>smoked pork is carcinogenic no shit. they already announced all other smoked meat was carcinogenic
>>21833263
>>21833263No evidence processed meat causes cancer. The panel was full of vegetarians that ignored the most rigorous evidence (human RCTs) to reach this biased conclusion. Getting tiresome how often this baseless claim is repeated and I have to repost the same article of a critic who was on their IARC panel.>Most importantly for the IARC report, two major dietary intervention studies that should have contributed to the assessment of the claimed relationship of red meat and cancer were not considered. The first was a study of colon polyps, the precancerous growths that greatly increase the likelihood of developing colon cancer. Almost 1,900 subjects with a recent history of having a polyp removed were divided into a control group that ate their usual diet and a group following a diet characterized by significant decreases in total fat, red, and processed meat along with increases in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes (Schatzkin et al., 2000). Participants were followed for 3 years and at the end of that time, the recurrence of colon polyps was identical in both diet groups. It is possible that the precancerous stage may not have been the proper time for dietary intervention. The Women’s Health Initiative, therefore, studied a low-fat diet, achieved in large part by reducing red- and processed-meat consumption, among almost 49,000 women (Beresford et al., 2006); about 30,000 followed their normal diets and almost 20,000 were assigned to low-fat diets. After 9 years, the rate of colon cancer was almost identical in the low-fat and control-diet groups. These studies strongly suggest that the observational studies are not supported by dietary intervention studies at either the precancerous or malignant tumor stages of colon cancer.https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7015455/

>>21834376I know Abbott and Costello but not that particular bit. And yeah I used to love Animaniacs, good show.
>>21835681I used to live on Watts Street. That's a fun one to Who's On First with.
What about spiral sliced ham I bought and froze for sandwiches like anyone with sense does when it's 87c a pound over the holidays? I don't see this as an issue because no one with sense buys 6 dollar or more a pound ham when you can get it for 87c.
>>21835907Honestly? I don't care for spiral sliced in sandwiches. The slices are too thick and I like my sandwich ham practically transparent. I'll use it for wraps and ham salad, though. And yeah, 87¢/lb is a good price especially considering ham is, like 75% edible. I recently bought three frozen turkeys still leftover from Thanksgiving. They were being sold by flat price, regardless of weight. The first I bought was $4.97 for a 14.62lber and the other two were several days later when the price dropped another two bucks down to $2.97 so I grabbed a 13.2lb bird and a 13.09lb one for $5.94 total. But half the birds are either inedible bone and gristle or organ meat, which is nice when I'm making a roast (dat gravy) but less useful when making soup, as I recently did with the smallest of our turkeys. And yeah, most people here don't take advantage of sales or forget that freezers exist. They're not very smart.
