Do you prefer the taste of mollusks or crustaceans?
>>
I don't eat sea bugs.
>>
>>21846646
Crustaceans are all delicious and crave-able. Molluscs are tolerable, except scallops which actually taste good.
>>
>>21846646
Depends where they're from and if they're farmed or wild.
>>21846652
This is the 734th time you posted this. We know you don't like them, we still don't care. Stay in your fast food, NoSL threads.

Okay depending on that then what?
>>
>>21846646
Glad someone made an infographic to break down how crabs have legs and clams don't.

Mollusks for taste, crustaceans for entertainment.

We had this joke back in my school in Hamburg.

Why doesn't the crab stand up for himself?
Because crabs don't have a backbone backbone!
>>
>>21846646
No mollusk or crustacean is safe from my maw.
>>
>bite tasty clam or mussel
>get mouth full of sand

Sea snails are underrated

Presoak then dip in broth
>>
i dont get why you eat nasty shit from the ocean
doesnt it give you the ick
>>
>>21846646
Crustaceans but I'm allergic to them. Mollusks are good too.
Gives me the ick to eat them.
>>
>>21846748
I change my answer. I've got low heme iron right now so molluscs. Not sure crabs have much but I know mussels are practically nothing but iron. I still love both, tho

The difference between mollusks or crustaceans is that I'm fucking going to kill you.
>>
>>21846646
I like the raw oysters with little crabs in them
>>
>>21848517
t. Crabby Clam
>>
>let's just ignore that octopus and squid is an mollusc
>>
Neither. They eat literally the ocean's putrid waste. Corpses, poop, urine and worse. They are the garbage men of the sea. And women. Garbage women (as if there's any other kind, HA)
>>
>>21849537
Why so hostile to your own roots
>>
>>21846646
I have never ate molluscs of any kind afaik, they seem slimy and the idea of just eating them raw is offputting.
From crustaceans I have only tried frozen shrimp, got curious when it went on sale. Me being a cooklet with no skill, I just boiled it to see how it basic taste was. It turned up chewy, maybe even rubberry a bit, with unique but not very intense taste. I could see it work with other ingreedients in dishes, but on its own it was not something I would choose to eat again. Dissappointing, probably due to my shit preparation and general lack of knowledge.

crustaceans all the way. there's something gratifying about them.
>>
>>21846646
I'm plenty fond of both. Except lobsters are overrated, and I don't care for oysters much (unless battered and deep fried; New Orleans has the right idea).
>>
>>21846646
i will NEVER EVER eat an octopus
i love how they taste and the texture of it but i can not morally justify eating something with sentience and higher intelligence.
Love all seafood though

I love fried soft shelled crab the best. I usually eat 2 or 3 in one sitting. I especially like them fried and I like them with a lemon wedge, hot sauce, and various dipping sauces

How do you not know what a blowfish looks like?
>>
>>21850589
Tetraodon mbu, aka Mbu pufferfish
>>
>>21850596
>>21850597
I did not ever consider that a fish could eat a crab. That's messed up. What is the shell even for at that point?
>>
>>21850531
This kills the crab
>>
>>21850638
Blowfish have four huge teeth that fuse into an extremely hard beak. That's where the species name
>Tetraodon
that >>21850597 mentioned comes from. Tetra = four (like how TETRis pieces are made of four blocks each). Odon = teeth (like how an orthODONtist does teeth shit).
They're a special case in their crab-eating ability specifically because of that hard-ass beak. Just to give you an idea of just how strong that beak is, they also bite straight through clams and mussels, too. People can crack crab shells with their teeth. I do it all the time. But fuck ever, EVER trying to bite through a bivalve shell. And blowfish do it, no problem.
Also, I apologise for talking down to you earlier about not knowing what a blowfish is. I hadn't considered you were reacting to the shock of seeing a fish eating a hard-shelled crab.

If someone put me in a sandwich I think my sentiment would be the same.

>>

I "prefer" them both. Fuck you and your apples and oranges questions. One is not any better than the other. Do you prefer the taste of beef or pork? What the fuck does that mean? I'm not living without either of them.
>>
>>21851200
>Do you prefer the taste of beef or pork?
Pork.
>What the fuck does that mean?
It means I prefer the taste of pork to the taste of beef.
>I'm not living without either of them.
When did anyone say you had to?

Do you have schizotypal disorder? Your post strongly implies you do.

>>
>>21851233
yes, crabs like all crustaceans have to shed their shell to grow. they do that every few months. It takes a few days for the shell to harden again, during that time they are soft like chicken skin.

>>

I'm on Team Mollusk. Bivalves are pretty awesome.

That said, they're filter feeders and suck up every nasty disease and microplastic particle in their environments, which basically means I rarely eat them any more.

>>
Crustaceans of course but I love Mussels. Can't wait for spring when they are in season so I can make some, I live near a mussel farm and they are very cheap in season.
