>>21847524>I don't understandyes you do
>an herbHoly fucking fuck
Tarragon is pretty sick and grows on its own. Goes really well with chimken.
>>21847165Lavender as a substitute or accompaniment for thyme or rosemary.

All my life I've heard about people putting clove in food and because I am ESL I thought they meant ''clove of garlic.'' Didn't think anything of it.Only recently I've found out that they mean the nasty disgusting cross shaped plant that you only use for some winter drinks and pickled pumpkin. They actually eat that.
>>21851095You use it in stocks and other long-boiling/fricasee dishes, little turd-skin.
I bought some fenugreek leaves for a curry. Pretty interesting and I should find more uses for them.
>>21851095>cross shapedLook more like the nails that should be used to nail you on a cross.
>>21847165yeah i rau ram'd your mom actually
>>21851865They are called crossnails where I am from. Lower your tone, boy. You are the one eating this nasty disgusting shit.I looked it up and it's a staple of Indian cuisine. You are literally Jeet-coded.
>>21852488cloves are used in European cooking too. they're part of mulling spices, pickling spice, and pumpkin spice. the thing is they have to be used quite sparingly and as an aromatic, because they can be an overpowering flavour. in the right blend they're good though.
>>21851095my most frequent use for it is infused chinese sauces
>>21847165Lovage is nice for stews and beans and such, taste is close to celery but stronger and slightly different.
>>21852651>LovageUsed to be very popular in Britain but I think it's just one of these herbs that got lost somewhere and not used now.
>>21852670odd, I'd imagine it taste really nice in a pie or something.
>>21852676I think it's because most people go to supermarkets now and these herbs aren't big sellers, so they don't stock them and people soon forget about them. Same is happening to Marrows, common with Boomers but now almost forgotten. When I was young, I recall visiting my Grandmother who would make stuffed Marrow (basically beef mince and roasted). At the time it was a bit Meh - but this was late 60s/early 70s (yes I'm that old) and she was a wartime cook, so no surprises there.I have been meaning to make it myself but obviously updating the recipe away from wartime ration food.
>>21851095Whenever I do a corned beef I use brown sugar, brown vinegar, garlic, and cloves. It smells delicious, it tastes delicious, and the broth afterwards is great for mashed potatoes. But you never eat the cloves themselves. You pull those fuckers out and throw them in the bin.
>>21852651Basically the plant version of Maggi

>>21847557I agree with the dumbfounded nature of your post
