I bought too much Cardamom... again.
What do I do with this stuff, other than use it in curry? Specifically Bengalese All Womens League Egg Curry.

I've been adding the odd pod here and there to stews and curry. It gives some nice flavor depth, but can quickly be overwhelming. Are there any recipes where it really shines?

Cardamom bread, cardamom coffee, I remember some desserts with cardamom that were good. Cardamom coffee is honestly my favorite out of everything I've had with cardamom focus
>>
Spice buns.
Durkadurka coffee.
Masala chai.
Gypsy toast.
Rice pudding.
>>
I've heard of people putting it in coffee to get temporary Kwisatz Haderach powers

Grind it into a powder and use it in desserts.

Interesting. I'm a fan of bread pudding and I can see how it would go well with that.

>cardamom coffee
I now remember purchasing some pre-mixed "coffee spice" from a spice peddler some years ago that had cardamom in it. It was pretty good as an occasional variation to milk coffee.

>masala chai
That's a great idea that I somehow missed.
>durkadurka coffee
Is that just coffee spiced with cardamom?
>Rice pudding
I've seen some anons' rice pudding recipes on here that mentioned cardamom. I'll try that - my grandma would have never ever used that.

you missed
>ice cream.
Cardamom icecream is VERY good, worth owning a cheap icecream maker for the once a year ice cream making binge

In my mind, making ice cream is for fatties and yuppies.
I might be slightly scared of gaining 50 pounds after opening that box of pandora.

Fat people are lazy and yuppies don't make their own food, they buy it. Make me cream

Well, I guess I do have a lot of cardamom to get through.

stop telling the normals this

I add some in when I make carrot halwa.
>>

Get a hand-crank ice cream machine, you'll earn it

Cardamom is good in sweet porridges. Try making an oatmeal porridge with a mashed banana inside, use some cardamom and honey. Almond butter is good mixed in too.

Haven’t seen a simple syrup suggestion yet, i did that once and loved it.
>>

I put in coffee, oatmeal, italian/mexican wedding cookies, all sorts of stuff.

It's a great flavour
>>
>>21848729
Cardamom is goated in both coffee and crepes
>>
>>21848854
It's ok, normgroids don't have enough Atteides DNA for it to make any difference
>>
>>21848729
i made chocolate cookies (not chocolate chip) with cardamom powder and it was probably one of my favorites. it's good in tea and coffee.

swedish cardamom buns use it as a main flavoring, never had it but i wanted to try it

Woooo, that's a good problem to have. It'll last a long time if you keep them right. They're great with desserts, great with yogurt, great in some stews, great with rice dishes. Green Cardamom + sugar is wonderful, a great addition for ice cream too. I bet it'd be cool for a creme brulee, or custard of sorts.

People here are mentioning coffee, and that sounds amazing.

Don't try to run through it, honestly. Use it when you want to use it

Grind or pound the seeds into powder and use it in-addition-to-or-as-replacement-for cinnamon in making snickerdoodles, but don't use as much as you would cinnamon. Cardamom is much stronger-tasting.
