purple sweet potato > orange sweet potato > yellow sweet potato > white sweet potato
>>

I haven’t had purple flesh but for me I’d go white, orange, yellow. I like the boiled chestnut texture and taste of white just eating it baked plain, orange is extremely close though as I like it better for mash and roasting.

I like how they're all shaped like big mutant wieners the orange one makes me think of the orange dog thing from ben 10 and it makes my willy feel funny

ube vs taro who ya got
>>
>>21849437
>Taro contains needle-like calcium oxalate crystals that act like tiny glass shards. When eaten raw, these crystals mechanically abrade the mouth, throat, and digestive tract, causing intense itching, burning, numbness, swelling, and a choking sensation.
Ube for that reason alone.

>issue that only arises from eating them raw like a fucking idiot

Japanese sweet potato is the best in my opinion.
But they are expensive where I'm at.

Did you make gnocchi?
>>
you guys need to try plantains. Green ones are cheap. Let them turn yellowish with black spots, then slice into 2 inch chunks, then cut the skin (so it falls off when cooked) and place them in a pressure cooker and steam for 15 minutes.

When done, peel off the skin and slice them into 'coins' and sprinkle aspartame on them to sweeten them.

Absolutely delicious and a literal superfood. incredibly filling. Try eating two plantains in one sitting. It's not easy. Very filling, almost no fat, and packed with nutrients and energy and fiber. I am addicted to these things.

>sprinkle aspartame on them
Totally gross dude

it makes stuff sweet. healthier than salt or sugar. It's just two amino acids joined together. One of, if not the best, seasoning invented in the 20th century.

Made gnocchi from orange and purple sweet poaties the other day. Crazy expensive tho. 3.99/lb for the purple ones
>>
>>21850481
The okinawan ones i told you about are $5/lbs here.
I buy them by the box now, little bit cheaper.
>>
>>21848835
nigga that's ube
>>
>>21848835
do these taste different to normal sweet potatoes?
>>
>>21850609
Okinawan taste much better. They are purple inside but have pale skin.
Normal what is called "purple potatoes" i believe is not as sweet as common orange ones.
>>
>>21850601
Please dont reference our containment thread. If they learn what we are they'll send us back.

Also, anything beyond 2$/lb is crazy for a potato. A worthwhile patch of gnocchi starts at 3lbs so 15$ is simply unreasonable for pasta

I have always dreamed of eating a steming hot Japanese sweet potato from a Japanese potato roasting stall in Japan in the winter time when it is snowing.
>>
>>21850623
Make it at home
>>
>>21850623
I bought some at the supermarket for 2.99/ib (expensive), diced and steamed them in a pressure cooker. best tasting sweet potato ever, but too expensive. I'll stick with plantains for now. The big ones at my supermarket are .69 cents each.
>>
>>21851441
Roasting them whole makes them much more sweet and flavor. If you want maximum sweetness
>>
>>21850265
>no fat
Fat is good for you. You trying to speed run Rabbit-Protein Death?
>>

>aspartame

Who pays you to post shit like this? I need to know, because I'm here all day anyhow and I also would like to make money by spreading false information on the internet.
