What are some genuinely humble and comforting meals you make that aren't trying to be impressive or full of finesse. They just taste and feel good.

Recipes and photos welcome!

Some kind of pasta + some kind of sauce + some kind of meat. Never fails.

My mom used to make a crockpot meal with chicken breasts, stuffing and cream of mushroom soup. It's sloppa but I make it a couple times a year as a comfy meal
>>
frozen pizza
>>
fry up chicken gizzards, after snipping them to a small size so they get crispy easily
add snow peas or sugar snaps whatever OP has there into the pan at the very end just get them warm and soft
add to white rice and add some sauce. i am using a balsamic glaze but you can also use chinese takeout sauce packets or whatever. doesn't matter
it's amazing how cheap this is and it tastes great

They call that noodle Scoobi-doo over here. Had it with my tuna pasta earlier this week
>>

>mix it all up and eat it

The humble stew, using whatever I have at home, with a red lentil base. I make a big pot and eat it every day of the week.

My wife and kid lose their shit over cauliflower fried rice. No, not fried cauliflower rice. I mean like shrimp fried rice. Only cauliflower.
I grate the cauliflower, fry some garlic and chili, add the cauliflower, add day old rice, toss toss stir stir and finish with green onion and smoked fish flakes (properly, pounded dried fish AKA Maldives fish is added at the beginning with the aromatics but I can't find the stuff really so I use katsuobushi at the end instead). Serve as the rice portion of whatever meal you're having, each portion topped with a fried egg.
We most recently had it with green chili sauce chicken stir fry and a carrot salad.
I don't have a picture of that dish specifically but I have one of beetroot fried rice somewhere. Literally the exact same process as the cauliflower one.

Neither of those look like disgusting slop bowls

Nice AI sloppa, I love getting soft boiled egg yolk all over my hairy unshucked peas.

For me, it’s an open faced egg and cheese bake that gets folded over at the end for a half quesadilla. Greek yogurt and an optional splash of hot sauce

Very comfy.

Sounds like some work but worth it

I should make some cheese n egg quesadillas this week
>>
Top ramen, strained before adding packet. Add gross amounts if mayo and butter. Place in large flower tortillas with cheese and a dash of hot sauce. Maybe salsa if I'm feeling fancy.

Top ramen burritos.
