>Want to make chocolate chip cookies for the first time ever
>First result when searching is Joshua Faggman but whatever I'll watch
>Potato chips in the cookie dough
What the fuck? Is this for real? Is it just a weird way of adding salt?
>>
>>21887015
recently I decided to cut down on my potato chip consumption, so I've been using one of those salt licks to get my NaCl fix and it's basically the same thing

90% of the culinary internet today is scrapers scraping scraped content. It's all fake. The first 5 pages of Google is all media conglomerates: Condé Nast, TF1, People Inc., Warner Bros, Hearst, Whirlpool, Class Editori, Fininvest (Berlusconi), Fox International,...

They own Epicurious, Bon Appétit, AllRecipes, Serious Eats, Simply Recipes, The Spruce Eats, EatingWell, Food & Wine, Martha Stewart, Food Network, Cooking Channel, Marmiton, Chefkoch, Gambero Rosso, Giallozafferano, Fatto in casa da Benedetta, Gordon Ramsay,... etc etc.

What they do is they scrape the internet with bots looking for actual content, rehash it, dumb it down immensely, glue a "chef", "home blogger" or Karen to it with a story about grandma or her niece in Rome's recipe, dump a shitload of backlinks (makes it rank on top) and have their marketing team sell it as "real", "authentic" or "creative genius". 99.99% of what you find on AI is this regurgitated garbage "reinvented".

The only good content is on Slow Food International, The Michelin Guide, The Culinary Institute of America, Tsuji Culinary Institute and similar independent companies. Everything else is a fraud. TasteAtlas is an independent company but uses the same scrape-and-dump system. It's worthless.

>Serious Eats
damn what a bummer. good ass recipes tho
>no americas test kitchen/cooks illustrated

why do you call him faggman? why such disrespect

he should stop acting like a fag man then

Bon Appetit
>Still good recipes
Serious Eats
>Still good recipes
Martha Stewart
>Too bad, her old recipes are great
Gordon Ramsay
>Only liked him when he's was telling retards their food tastes like a bison's penis
Food Network
>I like BBF, Chopped, and a few others, but they shoehorn all the woke WB bullshit into the shows. Also pretty sure Bobby Flay uses his shows as an alternative to Tinder
Food and Wine
>GALE'S BIG OLE CANADIAN MILKERS. I love that big titty leaf bitch

Cookies are simple, anon. At the most basic they're an emulsification of flour and baking soda with fat (butter), sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla. If you want to do plant based then you can use crisco or natural peanut butter as the fat and a shit ton of corn starch as the emulsifier (instead of eggs). How you go about baking the resulting dough is up to you.

If you're American or otherwise have access to them just buy the Toll House chocolate chips and use the recipe on the bag. They're simple an delicious. I purposely don't make them for myself because they're like crack.

>why do you call him faggman? why such disrespect
what would you call a dude who sexually harassed male employees
>>
>>21887651
doesn't he do a bunch of sexual innuendos in his videos? seems on brand
>>
>>21887651
I wasn't aware of that. I just think of him as a fag because he's 100% more of an entertainer than a chef now. Every one of his videos is difficult to watch because of the constant edits and stupid zoomer humor and singsong stuff he does.

Serious Eats still has some occasional good content but their site is so fucking obnoxious that I basically don’t use it outside of old stuff I know is good. ATK got bought a few years ago but they’re still based, unlike SE.

About the time that FUCKING MAGNETS; HOW DO THEY WORK?! nonsense from ICP came out, I read a recipe for potato chip cookies. I never tried it but it's supposedly a common thing in the Midwest and people I know who've tried it say that it's both pretty great and surprising I'd never heard of it before then.

Nestles toll house recipe on every bag of chocolate chips

Yeah thats fair I assumed it was good but im thinking back on a few SE recipes that were total duds. I guess the only thing left is to stockpile Cooks Illustrated mags from 2000-2010
>>

>americas test kitchen, Cooks Illustrated
owned by Neuberger Berman (Marquee Brands). Also owns Martha Stewart, Emeril Lagasse (intellectual property, branding, TV rights, product lines but not the restaurants)

Probably because the dude was obnoxious even before he tried to be the mr beast of food tubing.
