>buy negi>cut the ends off>stick them in potting soil and water them>you now have an infinite supply of negi for free
>>21888498>not true. i add 5 bushels to my stew for a mild oniony aftertastei found out your problem, you're not supposed to cook them. You put them on top raw as a garnish.
>>21888491Imagine being a gay retard like OP
STFU op they're super oniony and potent.>>21888501Don't even need to do all that. These things grow anywhere. I stock them in a plastic cup with water on my kitchen counter and they thrive.

>>21888491if you have a shitty supplier then yeah, they aren't that great. my grocery store rotates through suppliers. some weeks they're flavorful and healthy, other weeks they're small and barely taste like anything, and some weeks they're not even worth buying because their entire stock is wilted and slimy.
>>21888491the stinkier the shit, the smellier the onion.
used to be allergic to green onions when I was a kid. Mum put them in sausage rolls once and when I ate them I had a really strong allergic reaction. Teary eyed, coughing, I remember it was the worst I'd ever felt in my life. Went to the doctor and they said I was allergic so I never ate them. But then, 20 something years later, I started having Chinese food for the first time, which often has green onions, and I didn't have any allergic reaction at all.Strange.
>plant them in potting soil>they grow once more then shrivel away and dieWhy the fuck do I even try?
>>21888491Smelling green onion in a dish I made brought me back to chinese cooking for half a year straight, they are just so pleasantly fragrant.
>>21888491Yeah I added only 40 cloves of garlic, 20 red peppers and 10 table spoons of marmite, 3 bottles of lime extract and I can barely even detect the scallion.
