its a great snack or light breakfast
i just use whatever i would normally put on a regular slice of bread (not including things like fried eggs or leftovers)
so liver paste, cheese, jam, boiled eggs with roe, or uuuhhhhhh plain salted butter
i like the rye ones, topped with brown cheese and jam
butter is mandatory

In my fatter days I used to lightly spread ranch and chopped up bacon on these. Wasn't too bad. Multigrain was my favorite.

Publix stopped selling chopped liver. But, I used to buy the "rye" flavor for a nice slather of liver. Rye crackers are also good for egg salad, esp with dill.

I eat it with anything I can balance on top of it. I eat it with oatmeal, scrambled eggs, cottage cheese sardines, hummus. I basically use it as a 2nd utensil got all meals.
