How long could you survive with just a small electric cold box?
>>21914543I unno. Till midnight?
>>21914543I could survive with no refrigeration at all, it would just be a lower quality life. That thing is next to nothing but I can keep a small container of heavy cream, some condiments, some veggies in there and at least get by I suppose and it would be a major upgrade over no fridge at all.
>>21914543Its realistically possible.
I slept in a tent in the park for awhile. Good fun, highly recommend it.
>>21914543Shit nigga you can get an used fridge for 200$
>>219145436, maybe 7:30
>>21914543Pretty sure I'd be fine long term. Even without any cold storage you'd still have canned and dried goods, lots of produce doesn't need a fridge, vinegars, oils, seasoning, butter. Eggs if I source non-washed ones. Really the only things you'd be missing out on are condiments, which are nice but not necessary, most dairy products, and meat, but you could swap to tinned or cured meat. Also the ability to store leftovers, which is probably the biggest challenge. Could get some perpetual stews going though.Add in a cold box like that and you can store a small amount of meat and dairy. You'd be fine.
>>21914752How would you keep a perpetual stew from drying out without just adding tap water every day? Maybe a tin of tomato passato or something?
>>21914991mix the water with bouillon if you don't want to just add straight water
>>21914543I mean, I can drink warm soft-drinks and beer and black coffee, even if I don't like it.The electric cold-box would be storage for meat, cheese, and eggs in the hot months.I'd be buying vegetables to use on the day, or the day after, and fruits to have within the week.Onions and potatoes and grains don't need cold storage, nor bread or rice.I'd be doing aces if I learned how to cure meats off my grandfather, but more fool me for getting into cooking, canning, crop gardening, and general self-subsistence after he passed.
>>21914543>electric cold boxthose are fridges
>>21914742>an used>200$indian?
>>21914543Indefinitely. I just need room for a bottle of wine, mustard, butter, a few pieces of cheese, a few slices of cured meat, a can of cream and a place to store my fish.>>21915000Trips and bouillon spelled right? Include me in the screenshot.
>>21914543Those small refrigerators use the same amount of power as a full refrigerator.
>>21914543Who cares? Will cross that bridge if it ever comes. And that tiny fridge you have is a power hog.
>>21914543Those things don't reach 40F so you will give yourself food poisoning.
>>21914543I keep all my produce on the counter and all my dry food on the shelf. I don't need a fridge, but a freezer is nice.
So this is communism.
>>21914543Unfortunately you've survived this long.
>>21914543Is this common in Europe?
>>21921321No, but tell yourself otherwise if you want everyone to think you're a dumbass faggot.
>>21921321probably more common in rural America. seems like the kind of shit you'd find in trailer parks or hollers
