A problematic dish. One small chunk of this is extremely dense and unhealthy. Overwhelming. A few bites and you're done, but then there's so much left. Who eats this?

Lasagna gets better after it has a chance to sit in the fridge for a day. Do you need someone to explain the concept of leftovers?

>One small chunk of this is extremely dense and unhealthy
nope wrong.

OP puts the bitch in lasagna

Family size? That barely feeds me, how could it feed a family?
>>
>>21917850
Eat a smaller portion, dipshit. You don't need much to fill up. Also your lasagna looks crappy.
>>21918221
Fuck off retard
>>

I like thicker ricotta layers, and a properly browned top. A corner piece is the best piece. The edges of the noodles get nicer when overcooked and browned.
I have never had issues being full from a few bites, but I could see a good appetizer, soup course, salad kind of course, esp with cocktails could seem monumental. I don't make it except christmas eve. It's nice to have it completely made dinner and kitchen cleaned up when entertaining family.

I make a small-ish one for me and the missus, and we slowly kill it over the course of a few days... and then fish and salad to cleanse the palate the day after it's gone.

How do you guys layer your lasigna?
This is a simple method which involves mixing the meat and sauce, then doing a cheese mixture atop
>cheses
>-----
>cheses
>meatsauc
>-----
>cheses
>meatsauc
>-----
>cheses
>meatsauc
I am considering something more experimental. Observe
>chese
>----
>ched
>meat
>----
>sauc
>meat
>----
>ricc
>meat
>----
>sauc
>meat
>----
>mozs
>meat
>----
>sauc
>meat
>----
>sauc
>meat
As you can see, this layering involves making the sauce separate from the meat, as the meat is split between the sauce and the cheese on alternating layers. Furthermore, the cheese is divided into the three repsective cheeses that would have made up the base cheese mixture. This method may require too much pasta, thougheverbeit.
Do I dare do this? I have never gone this far off the deep end...
>>
I only eat lasagna with horse meat french quality.

Um, sweetie, that's a very problematic diet you have there! It's heckin' unhealthy and OMG meat AND cheese? We must be very privileged, aren't we? We all know nobody actually enjoys lasagna! It's a performative food! Like beer, shrimp (le heckin' sea bugs) and steak! I'm going to write you a prescription for ozempic in case you don't stop eating lasagna.
>>
>>21917850
That is some thicc lasagna I would eat two of those. Your appetite is wrong. You getting enough sunlight? If you're lacking in vitamin D your appetite can get suppressed.
>>
>>21919071
>You getting enough sunlight?
I mean, I take vitamin D supplements but the weather's been shit lately so not really going out much. It's cloudy as fuck anyway.
>>
>>21919046
it depends what I've got and how tall I can make it.

sauce on the bottom 0/basement, sauce atop the bottom layer of noodles (1) and every other layer (3, 5, etc.), if I'm doing three kindsa layers (ricotta + egg, and spinach and basil with garlic and lemon for instance), I'll switch between those for the even layers. If I'm building a monstrosity and have something like olive-and-anchovy or sage-heavy sausage that really only needs one layer, I'll try to get that in the middle - whether on its own or in with some sauce. The layer under the last layer of noodles should be sauce, and I might smear a bit atop them as well. The topping is 'mornay' (bechamel with appropriate cheese in it, as well as some yolk if I have egg elsewhere) topped with shredded mozz and a drizzling of olive oil.
