Yeah I killed this quadriplegic retard for meat. What a great investment; the cheapest long-pig I've ever come across
>>
>>21940332
quadriplegic doesn't mean vegetative
>>
>>21939937
Right now I'm just eating a baked potato, on it's own

I went for the vegetable that couldn't run, anon. Those other vegetables were too quick for me

I'm gonna make myself really small like a tiny mouse you'll hardly ever notice me. I may raid the fridge for cheese tho.

Yes, I am not a child.

My favorites include brocollis, carrots, pea pods and string beans, all steamed and served with a pinch of salt and olive oil.

For salads I like lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, palm hearts and olives, with balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt and sometimes oreganun.
>>
>>21939937
Root vegetables only. Leaves are for cattle
>>
>>21940547
>all steamed and served with a pinch of salt and olive oil.
Could you please educate me on how to properly steam veggies? Because apparently I *am* a child.
The only way I know how to cook veg is to bake on a sheet w/ olive oil & serve w/ goat cheese. But I really want to steam (like broccoli & peas) but I have no idea what the simplest (and most cost-efficient) method is.

Thanks in advance if you or any anon helps me.

Is this kale shit real or is it just a meme? I swear I only just recently heard about kale being bad like a couple weeks ago. Has this always been a thing?

What's wrong with it? Is it bad for human digestion or something? Kale is pretty good in potato soup.
>>
>>21940620
too much Kale can cause infertility and other nasty stuff, it was mostly popularized in the 2010s by some self proclaimed "psychic" retard
>>
>>21940631
And what is too much kale? Sounds like something that would happen if you ate tons of kale every day for entire meals and stopped eating a normal balanced diet. People have been eating kale for thousands of years.
>>
>>21940347
We also have so much cheese that it sometimes gets lost/forgotten in the back of the cheese drawer. Just last night, I found an unopened vac-pack of gruyere that "expired" in 2018 while looking for the parmigiano for last night's risotto. So I opened it and tasted a piece and it now tastes like parmigiano stravecchio so i used it to make Italian macaroni-and-cheese instead of the risotto. With peas mixed in. Salad after. Fuji apples after that.
And we've got three refrigerators.

>>21939937
only when I have to.

Tonight's dinner is probably going to be some all-wrong mapo tofu with rice, and garlicky gai lan with fried mushrooms and cashews... The pork chops, mushrooms, and the gai lan are going regardless of what I turn them into.

I don't recall the exact amount, also the effects of excessive consumption of kale can come in different forms, for example some farms in Tasmania fed a heavy based kale diet to their cows and their milk became pure poison, children got thyroid diseases for drinking the milk, also I confused celery with kale

kale causes hyperthyroidism
celery causes infertility

>Sounds like something that would happen if you ate tons of kale every day
eating some kale here and there won't cause you any trouble but there is no merit to add kale to your diet, I think it can be used as medicinal food but don't quote me on that

>People have been eating kale for thousands of years.
yup, but it wasn't consumed as much as it is today

Kale contains Isothiocyanates, which are mustard oil compounds than can help regulate our gut microbiome and kills pathogens such as E. coli
But you can also get these compounds from mustard, garlic and wasabi. And all species in the mustard family.
In fact kale is the least tasty of all Isothiocyanate food sources. I'd rather eat broccoli
Fuck kale
>>
Yes, my favorite method is hotpot/shabu.
>>

It has too much oxalates just like spinach, I think that actor Liam Hemsworth had kidney stones because for a long time he drank spinach and kale smoothies in the morning.

Oxalates bond to calcium and create calcium oxalates crystals that build up in your kidneys.

Cooking the veggies reduced the oxalates but depending on the veggie no by much or maybe 50%.

But since people like their veggies to stay green and vibrant they just blanch em for 30 seconds, you gotta boil em for at last 5 mins for the oxalates to leach into the water.
>>
>>21940873
>spinach and kale smoothies
Yeah I dunno, I think spinach and kale are fine but when you start doing things like that and consuming more than you normally would it's not surprising you'd run into problems.

I like spinach and kale and can eat a lot but if I eat it a lot for a few meals I get tired of it and stop wanting it. There was probably a point where he got sick of it but since it's a smoothie it's still easy to keep forcing it down.
>>
>>21940873
Too many oxalates and not enough magnesium. Magnesium binds oxalates and reduces their absorption. When people do restrictive diets they often experience "oxalate dumping" which is very unpleasant.
Epsom salts are often used to help detox from excess oxalates.
We all should eat more magnesium foods!
>>
>>21939937
I like green beans

True, problem is a lot of the soil food is grown on is depleted of miners so supplementation is an option.
>>21940985
Not a big fan myself except Spanakopita. I will make a mean Spanakopita and enjoy it.

I think Liam was vegan during that time, all those raw veggies is not good in the long run, the body can't absorb and convert most of the nutrients.

Put veg in pot. Put little bit of water in. Just enough so that when the veg is done cooking, all the water wouldve evaporated away. Close lid or leave slightly ajar. Choose appropriate heat.
There is another way but this is more like a blanch. Which is you boil the water first then put the veg in.
>>
>>21941162
But wouldn't this risk burning the veg if water evaporates too quickly? I assumed the best way would be to fix like a strainer/colander-type attachment to the top of a pot filled with boiling water so the steam rises & the veg literally gets steamed directly, not just submerged in water.
>>
>>21939937
I just had chili, chili has tomatoes, onions and peppers and those are vegetables.
>>
>>21942005
>But wouldn't this risk burning the veg if water evaporates too quickly?
Yeah but the water shouldn't really evaporate that quickly. Don't leave it on max heat, it just needs to be steaming and not boiling. At most it might end up a little brown unless you ignore it for a long time.

They sell steamer baskets for that though but you can still do it without.
>>
>>21939937
I'm lazy so I subscribe to a local hello fresh alternative and they put a lot of veggies in the food so yeah I guess I eat them because it would be a waste to throw them out

>Tomatoes $9 for 2-3 of them
>Cucumbers $8 now
>Bell peppers been $6 each since covid
>Fruit is impossibly expensive too unless you want the blandest fucking shitty Filipino bananas you've had in your life that taste like chalk
>The only affordable shit is onions and pumpkin which both taste like shit unless mixed with other vegetables
Potatoes are basically it, and they're more just something you have with every meal instead of a real vegetable.
>>
>>21944515
Humans eat brassica, carrots, and dehydrated onion.
>>
>>21944515
I bought, like, 36 tomatoes for just over $5 the other day (10lbs at 49¢/lb)
I bought two-ish pounds of cucumber last month for $2.50ish ($1.39/lb)
I'm buying bell peppers this week for $1.49/lb
I bought 6lbs of Fuji apples recently for $2 (50¢/lb but the till guy forgot to scan the third bag and I didn't notice until I'd already left the store).
Navel oranges are also 50¢/lb. Bananas are 44¢/lb. Blueberries and blackberries are $1/dry pint.
Your very, very, very shit at shopping.
>>21940873
>Liam Hemsworth
He should just be a model. He's by far the worst popular actor ever. Shit actors like Stallone and Schwarzenegger at least can act the parts they're typecast in. Liam can't act at all.
>>21942937
Sorta. Two full size, one apartment fridge and my 26 year old mini fridge from my college dorm that still works. I wasn't counting the mini fridge but I guess combining that and the apartment fridge = full size fridge.
