Other than cock, what's the strangest meat you've put in your mouth?

I have recently found myself with a variety of strange meats. Some crammable, some less so. Any recipes or reccs for cooking these guys?
>alligator sirloin
>frog legs
>rabbit and python sausage
>ground kangaroo
>wild boar ribs
>Red deer top sirloin steaks
>elk medallions
>bison ribeye
>Kangaroo medallions
>alligator andouille
>>
I've had alligator at country fairs but who knows what mystery meat that actually was
>>
>>21942200
>wild boar ribs
Were they good? We have wild boars all over the place where I live tearing shit up. I always wondered if I grabbed a small/medium sized one and ate it if it would be good. A lot of people say it's too greasy and stringy.

jesus christ anon are you protein maxxing? (also how much did it cost you?)
>>
>>21942251
I haven't had any of them yet. Bison ribeye tomorrow then probably 2 a week until I'm out.

>>21942371
No idea what you're talking about I haven't been on TV in years. Just shitposting

>>21942379
Nah just had some birthday money and went ham at the local novelty meats store. $208 for the stack. Never been in there before but if I like any of these I'll be back
>>
>>21942251
Wild Boar are predators and scavengers aren't they? They must be riddled with parasites.
>>
>>21942428
Yeah, and they are demons. They will tear up an entire huge garden, uproot everything and barely eat anything. Also they get fucking huge. I do know people eat them, but it's mixed reviews on the quality.
>>
boars are qt

nice price. you can roast the boar like chicken.
season it with salt and pepper over a campfire and squeeze and orange to get some good ribs.
(also sorry for my shitty english, its not my first language so im not very good at it.)
>>
>>21942510
>roast the boar ribs over a campfire
Ok or maybe searing then roasting in an oven like a non homeless person. I like the orange bit tho. Thanks
>>
>>21942526
>cooking ribs over a fire is homeless
You should give all that meat to someone else and buy some tofu
>>
>>21942200
I’ve tasted all these animals before. I think horse is underrated too. Bugs and sea bugs are still where it’s at in terms of weird food.
>>
>>21942526
So you want him to do it in an other presumably better way than you?
That's nice.
>>
>>21942531
I live in an apartment and it's pretty early to start grilling. My meats remain with me

maybe that or maybe you could season it like a pulled pork and make a sandwich with melted chihuahua cheese.

What? He is welcome to roast his food over an open fire. I am planning on using things available to me in a kitchen.

Bison is good shit. Pretty common now too compared to before. It's like beef, just taste a bit 'meatier' if that makes sense.
>>
>>21942422
>local novelty meats store
I’ve never seen one of these in my life, was the person working there really into it?
>>
>>21942450
Trap them with circular cages to catch an entire family or half at once, then feed corn or whatever feed thats cheap and available for a week or so(to change flavor profile).
You can sneak some meds in prolly for parasites.
>>
I did the roo meat one time. Ostrich is pretty good.

In terms of "strange" I would have to say some sort of snake meat, served as snake soup, at a restaurant in Snake Alley, Taiwan.
>>
Jerkey probably shouldn’t count, but snake, shark, kangaroo, emu. Snake was the most unique, the rest was relatively fishy, beefy, and chicken-y in that order

Surstrumming and Hakarl were fairly weird, but moreso for their preparation than the meat itself.

Yeah the guy was super knowledgeable. Idk how much money they rake in, it's probably more of a passion project.

Dinner was bison steaks, beef bone marrow, and ciabatta points with pickled mustard seeds.

Tasty but hard to differentiate from beef. Like anon said it does taste "beefier" but if no one told me idk I would notice the difference.

Happy birthday one and all!
>>
>>21942976
holy shit if you do this in conjunction with dumpster diving you could feed it shitty expired hostess cakes for a week and eat nutty buddy flavored boar
>>
Tuesday's gonna be the frog legs. Prob something like this: https://junedarville.com/frog-legs-recipe.html
>>
>>21943976
Wow that’s a super meaty dinner. In honor of your car maybe you could make a soup of roo.

Also if it’s your birthday then Happy Birthday!
>>
>>21942200
Wtf those frogs legs look huge
>>
>>21942557
Cunt who the fuck is milking chihuahuas?
>>
>>21944457
>soup of roo
Lol nice, I like it. Maybe like a zuppa toscana type deal with the kangaroo meat. Someone told me it's pretty iron-y and I think it would fit well

>>21944461
I look like that from the back so it had to be a purchase

>frog
>rabbit
>boar
>deer
>elk
>bison
had all of these two. wouldn't even really consider rabbit or deer particularly weird. also had horse, crocodile, a couple snakes, lots of insects and spiders, shark

in general, just cook them like you would any "regular" protein. pay more attention to the specific cut, not the animal it's from. a tenderloin cooks like a tenderloin whether it's from a pig or a deer. a steak cooks like a steak. ribs cook like ribs. and so on.
>>
>>21942200

Probably dog. Not bad but not great.
>>
>>21944025
Frog legs are so underrated, if more people tried them, more people would like them
>>
>>21945545
They're pretty common in diners/fish fry restaurants in Southern Indiana. I'm guessing it's mostly popular in the south. I live close enough to Kentucky for there to be a lot of crossover. It actually does taste just like chicken.
>>
>>21945554
Heh, I live in Southern IL so that makes sense
>>
>>21944959
Have you also tried squirrel?
>>
>>21945545
Meh. They taste like slightly fishy chicken. Nothing special. A Chinese buffet used to have them (remember back when Chinese buffets still existed? WuFlu Farms remembers.)

>>21945289
Not sure if semen counts as "meat", anon.
>>
>>21942200
To me the strangest meat is kangaroo, although I am Icelandic so what most people would consider strange is something like minke whale or auk. Both of which are in fact incredibly good, no matter how much tourists and leftists cry about it.

I've had rabbit, alligator, boar, kangaroo, moving "live" octopus, giant isopod, emu, whale, & bear. Of these most of them tasted like just a version of whatever meat they're closest to (mostly chicken or like a gamey steak when it came to bear) other than kangaroo which had a unique almost cheesy flavor to it. Picrel is some sparrows I had
>>
>>21945739
What does whale taste like? Is there anything you can compare it to? I imagine it to be like a denser tuna and more oily
